Anyone have a guess as to how Kanade might have died? For her to be trying as hard as she, I'm curious as to how she ended up there in the first place.

What I mean is what trauma did Kanade experience. Yuri is at the afterlife because of having to watch her siblings be killed in front of her. I'm wondering about what happened to Kanade.

Also, anyone else think its weird that Otonashi is there at all? Everyone else ended up in the afterlife because of some bad thing that happened in life, something they regretted. Yet Otonashi died satisfied (?) because he was able to 1) help all the people on the train, and 2) donate his body to help someone after he died. I would think he was happy with his choices, so....what gives?

otonashi thought they died with him cause whan he died rescue came,

Not to mention that Otonashi had a grandeur dream of being a doctor and saving a bunch of people. He was never able to accomplish that dream, and has been mentioned, has no idea that his efforts after the train accident certainly did save a group of people.

Yeah, but she denied being an Angel, and seems really human. So it is possible for her to have died and showed up there like the rest of them.

It is implied that she committed suicide... sure she said she didn't... but she rushed when she said something like, "I didn't commit suicide, no suicides here." ...nobody had mentioned suicide. So, it's just implied.

Also, I don't see how Kanade could have died before Otonashi... I mean, she was there first... but how is that so if she received his heart before she died? Either that... or the operation failed... I don't know...

but it still doesn't explain how she ended up there in the first place. Unless she was the one that created that area.

I guess because of some heart related problem.Because she needed heart donor,so she must have some heart problem.And the theory of otonashi ending up there after kannade is a rather interestin one,maybe because of otonashi's amnesia his travel time(accross and different dimension/space) must have slowed down,in the last episode he also said that "maybe because of my amnesia i must have wandered of here" and maybe because of the wandering he took so much time to reach that place.

i don't know but i think this makes the most sense
