Since this objectivity/subjectivity discussion seems to have calmed down a little bit, I was thinking to change the topic and ask the club members this question. I'm curious to know what everybody's favorite (or if you want, best) scene in anime (or manga) is if you have one. There are definitely plenty of excellent scenes, and it might be difficult to pick just one for some people, but for those of you who feel like sharing, I encorage to post some. I also suggest using the following format, when posting a scene, in order not to spoil some people.

My favourite scene... That's a hard choice, because I really have some really memorable ones.

So I got to pick two. May I pick two? They are tied.

Rose of Versailles, anime, somewhere around the second "part"

Ai no Kusabi, second OVA

Damn, I even feel tears at this moment just of remembering these two. I really love them.

;)

I would like to edit this post and add some more scenes. The rest of you inspired me to post more.

My other favourites from anime

Rose of Versailles

Sailor Moon (Dead Moon Circus Arc)

Sailor Moon (Star Lights Arc)

And now my favourite scenes from MANGA. As I've not read a lot of manga I may have a lot of scenes that seem insignificant, but the truth is that I hold such memories very dear because feelings you have while reading are on a different scale. And I can remind them.

Sailor Moon

Fake

Gerard and Jacques

And I think that's it. I have many other memorable scenes, but if I posted them all I would never leave here and that's not the objective. My ultimate two favourites are those I quoted, but the rest are also things that I really love and that really touched me and still touch me. I suppose that it's easy to define my character just by looking at my favourite scenes. =p On any case, I hope they touched the other viewers/readers as much as they touched me. ^^

Many of my favorite scenes are rather spoiler-ridden so to say, so there are slim pickings, this one however doesn't spoil anything and always stuck with me; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YsSYc7YGgQ

Anime: The final scene of Mushishi's 20th episode
It's amazing how gentle bittersweetness can leave a longer-lasting mark than heavy action or drama. Two people burdened with responsibilities and an uncertain future, denying none of their troubles or what fate may have in store for them, yet looking forward with hope. All that, shown in a seemingly casual conversation while going out for a stroll. Kudos to the composer for that eargasmic background music, Fude no Umi.

Manga: Chapter 132 of Yokohama Kaidashi KikouThis pretty much encapsulates what I love about YKK. The author has this talent for taking facts of life and capturing its essence within a few pages.

Thanks, Yuunagi, and everybody for contribution.

@ ladyxzeus

Yes, you can post as many scenes as you want. I just wanted to reminisce over the great scenes that I knew of and maybe to see what to look forward to in anime/manga that I haven't seen/read yet.exceptional scenes in them.

Here is my original post.

Here is probably my favorite scene in anime:

Legend of the Galactic Heroes, around episode 54 (does not spoil much, but it does tell you who is alive at that point in the series)

As for my favorite manga scene, I believe this one impressed me the most.

Vinland Saga major spoilers which might ruin everything for you, chapter 52.

Having finish REC (the anime series) recently, this last romance scene with Aka and Matsumeru did move me a great deal considering on how the buildup of their relationship progress from beginning to end. This scene can mostly be enjoyed if you have seen the rest of the series though:

Kino's Journey - Episode 2, near the end
Mild

Major
It really sets the tone for the rest of the series. Reminded me allot of the original FMA series and the way it was able to establish the world such that everything felt innocent, only to rip it away and leave you feeling foolish for trusting it.

Anime
Difficult question.
Probably the one scene that both immediately stuck and retains its beauty after successive viewing: Spice and Wolf, episode 1:

Runner-up #1: Simoun, episode 14, second half:

Runner-up #2: Sora no Woto (of all things...), episode 12, at around 10:00:

Manga
Easier by far.
YKK, chapter 71, pages 84-88:

@whitew123 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treehouse_of_Horror_VII

This was the episode (the 2nd story) I was thinking of. Though not the nuclear destruction part. I think it might even be a twilight zone episode but I'm not sure.

Oh wow, I'm sure there are a boatload of them, but the only one I can think of right now is the scene in cowboy bebop, in the episode ballad of fallen angels, specifically when the song green bird comes on and spike is falling out the window and the viewer is allowed to take a trip down his memory lane. Simply beautiful that scene.

Also, third that Vinland Saga scene.

I believe it was one of the Halloween episodes. I forget which one though...although the episode was based around a science competition.

I've got many favorites but the most memorable ones for me are the last 6 minutes of episode 24 of Honey and Clover and the last 8 minutes of episode 12 of Honey and Clover II.

Episode 24, Honey and Clover
Episode 12, Honey and Clover II
