I watched this series when I was younger in English. I'm currently watching the series in Japanese with English fansubs. I didn't remember much from seeing it before so it is like a completely new series for me.

There are many users who have the series marked as completed and I was wondering which language you completed it in:

I watched it in English also and I really like the English voices, even though there are certain details that was omitted from the English version.

I watched the English version when I was a kid, and I hardly remember anything, except for the fact that I loved it at the time, hahaa.
Oh and, Sailor Moon was kind of annoying, and her voice was also kind of annoying, but other than that, I liked it.
If I watched it in English now I probably wouldn't though..

English...

I hear the version not aired in the US is much better. I've been thinking about watching a few episodes to see if I can get into it, but...

I watched in English back when I lived in Canada. I don't remember it at all (thus why it isn't on my list) so if I did see it again it would be like a new series for me. I remember loving it though.

Though I actually watched it in Sweden. Best Swedish dubs ever, next to the Digimon dubs.

Watched a few episodes at the beginning in English, but the vast majority in Japanese. This was the first series I actually bought imported LDs for to see how much it had been changed. The one good thing I'll say about the English version is that some of the songs they did were very good, in a couple of cases better than the Japanese original.

That's pretty much what I did. XD

And yeah, I liked the English songs better than some of the Japanese ones, but I ended up downloading them anyway =)

10 or so years ago I remember getting up at 6:25AM and watching it in English and I thought it was great. About 5 months ago I picked up the entire uncut Japanese collection and I could not believe that I ever liked the English version at all (even though I was still little). So yeah... I started with English, and went with the Japanese in the end.

I watched it raw when I lived in Japan and fell in love, then when I moved back to the States I watched it in English and grew to hate the dub... Then I watched it fansubbed. I never finished it though, I've been toying with the idea... I did download all of Wedding Peach, after all, might as well watch Sailor Moon while I'm on my mid 90's mahou shoujo kick.

Wow... takes me back. Sailor Moon was the first anime I ever watched when I was about 12/13. I watched it in English and I absolutely loved it..... I've been thinking about watching it again with the subs, but I procrastinate :) I'm also a bit worried I won't like it anymore.

Hehe, I watched it in Hungarian as a wee little kid :/ Hungarian anime dubs are awful... When they make a translation and a dub they think that only 8-12 years old kids are going to watch the anime

I saw the first two seasons in English when I was in high school, and I watched the last three series and movies in Japanese. I didn't finish SuperS though, as it had too much Chibiusa for my liking. I'm planning to rewatch the whole thing in Japanese someday (and complete SuperS in the process), but that'll be a while off, I think. :)

I was in college, and had seen all of the series that had aired at the time in Japanese (through SuperS I think?) before it was licensed to be dubbed in English. I watched the dub out of morbid curiousity at the same time I was watching Sailor Stars in Japanese. The contrast was funny. I remember all of the controversy at the time over the dub naming and voices and translation, and thinking that this was gonna be a great thing to bring in a new wave of US anime fans. XD The dub is a novelty for me, the sub is how I really know sailor moon :D

I watched it dubbed in Romanian about 10-12 years ago, and funny fact is, they had the same voice for all the male characters and the same voice for all the female characters. Very confusing. >_O
But I've recently rewatched part of it in Japanese too. Much better. ^_^

Currently watching the original in Japanese, after having watched original, R, S, and SuperS dubbed a long time ago... after a ep. that might have had controversial elements, I usually go see the dub version of the ep on Youtube for a quick comparison... and I find the English version (especially the DiC version) absolutely unwatchable.

Not to mention, cutting an important ep. about Sailor Venus? Lame.

I watched all of the English dubbed episodes and later I watched it all in Japanese, including the episode that wasn't brought over with the R dvd box set, Stars, and I think most if not all of the specials.

I treat the dub as an alternate universe. It's still entertaining.

If we got 80% or higher let me know! :)
