I've always liked Fruits Basket. Now I'm rewatching the series. I can say that what touched me the most was Momiji's story.

Episode 15 made me cry sooooo much! Poor Momiji!

i also found momiji's character pretty depressing because of his side story...i'm surprised at how cheerful and happy he presents himself even after such a rough childhood...in this respect, he reminds me of tohru a lot since she's such a strong willed character and also cheeful or always smiling even after what happened with her mother and all...

however, i find hatori's character the most sad...

I just finished episode 15. I was pretty surprised that he had such dark background since he's always so cheerful. I honestly hate people that look down on others just because they are different. Makes me sick.... that said I hope I won't see much more of his mother ^^

Eitherway... Momiji always reminds me of "Honey" from Ouran. Same seiyuu, short and blonde, and he always says "ne?" at the end of any sentence.... the resemblance is just too big. ^^

I agree with you that's why Hatori is my second favorite character in FB next to Kyo. =3

Maybe that`s WHY she didn`t want Momiji. She wanted a baby she could actually hold & touch & love on, instead of having to avoid him because she doesn`t want to see him turn into an ANIMAL.

yeah...this makes a lot of sense but i must say that i still don't think it's a valid reason for what she did to momiji...you would think that a mother would take care of the child she helped create no matter what flaws the child comes with...what she did was imo, inexcusable...

i was too shocked when i found out Momiji past, at first when he told tohru his mom doesn't know bout him, i was puzzled..thinking that ooh maybe his father kept it secret from her to avoid something or whatever, say they all lie to Momiji's mom that Momiji die right after he was born maybe.. it never occured to me that actually she knows bout her son situation and decided to reject it..that's cruel~~sob sob

episode 15 is the only one in many many episodes and animes which made me cry. momiji went from "a very likeable character" to my second fav after shigure ^-^ and third would be hatori. i really feel very sorry for him. and yet he's always so strong and caring in front of the others.

"There Are No Memories It's OK to Forget" is my favourite episode, because it's so touching :'(
I started reading the manga a few years go before watching the anime (am re-reading it again and again as well lol) and that particular scene was already very sad in the manga but seeing it in the anime really broke my heart. I love it how the extended version of the Furuba theme song is being played in the background when Momiji says he doesn't want to forget even the bad memories etc. That made it even sadder >__________<

i mean, come on! this is a man who was forced to erase the memories of his one true love and then watch her get married to another guy...that's completely brutal... T_T because of this, he always seems to have a "serious/melancholy" expression all the time, making him my 3rd favorite character in the series after shigure and yuki...

def agree. i personally find hatori's story sadder...but i feel so sad for momiji too.

but even more for kyo! completely rejected by his family for something that happen so long ago!

and to hav such a monster inside of him. poor kyo
