| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- New OP is a cover of the original. IMO it has better vocals, but the beat behind it just isn't right for this style of anime... Definitely not an OP that gets you pumped up like all other Major OPs (OP 4 and 5 weren't too good, but they did get you pumped up...). Nice animation as well... Glad they used the Gibson pitch like in the original, and switching to Goro was also a nice addition (I get the feeling Gibson will be back...). Hopefully subs will be faster this week. |
| The raw was kinda hard to understand for me-. But the episode was ok, i would like to see goro kicking ass again, and the op revealed some spoilers maybe ? |

| I'm liking the cover okay, but yeah, it doesn't get me all excited like the original did, but it's still good. I really like some of the mirror positioning in the sequence. The subs just came out, but yay. Mostly goro pitching the game, he might have a no hit- no run in his debut. I was really surprised that he stepped off the mound. |

| Firstly, I love the OP of the first season but uhg the cover for this season is terrible. Just ruined the song for me so much :( The episode was really good though. Didn't expect it to get this intense this early. Should just get better and better though. |
| I never really link Major op and ed so it didn't disappoint me at all. About the ep - after great beginning things start to go wrong for Goro. Probably its all about match he lost again Jr. Now we have to wait 4 someone to back him up (as always ), and he will realize it after some time ;] |

| I really liked the opening, tho the original song is much more of my liking, i like the meaning they gave to the opening. I would say the slower cover kindda gives us a nostalgic feeling, probably meaning that what started at season 1 with be concluded. Also, from this episode, i would kindda guess this season will bring some greater problems to Goro. This didn't really seemed like an half-assed trauma, it is probably something actually pretty bad that will need a little moar then just "encouragement" to get past (opening also suggests that). |

| Yeah, but to be honest the manager should have pulled him before the start of the inning if not earlier. It's insane for a rookie starting pitcher to go 120 pitches deep into a game, even if they do have a no hitter on the line. Heck, even most seasoned veteran starters rarely hit the 120 pitch mark. Not to mention that Goro's nerves were completely rattled and he couldn't pitch in the strike zone out of fear that they would give up a "sayonara home run" like in the World Baseball Classic. |

| Poor Goro. Having a posttrauma I think... I thought it will be off to a good start for him but surprisingly it turns too bad for his debut. And Keane is not a help at all emotionally. I know he is just thinking for the good of the team but he is just freaking straightforward. And the owner is really a jerk! hmph! |

| Ohhh man, the moment that opening started playing I could feel it! Man when Goro was facing Kyoshiro in that dazed state, I had a feeling something really awful was going to happen. It was smart of him to do as Keane said and leave the mound. Giving up the no/no record is a small sacrifice compared to increasing to his World Series home-run trauma. |

| Ok so Goro has Issues on the mound (again)... And for the OP analysis there are 3 things that interest me there 1. the guy getting a dead-ball is it goro or does goro hit someone? 2. Shimizu(Karou) Putt down her mitt, does she quit get injured? 3. the random guy fighting goro in what look to be the locker room, does this guy dislike goro or will he be someone kinda character to motivate goro? |

| When there is a beginning, then there will be an ending as well. Yes, they use the opening from the first season for the last season too. I like the cover of the song. It gives me the vibes of the end of Major. And when I think Goro will have a no-no match, he screw up because of the trauma that Joe Gibson Jr gave. And for the owner, I didn't like that type of person. Hopefully Goro will be recover from his suffer and trauma. |

| I'm actually a really big fan of this new mellower take on the original OP. It seems really fitting for a final season, like Gorou has finally found his home after searching for it for so long. It's a shame he couldn't debut with a no-hitter and make history, but without a catcher like Toshiya or Komori who can really smash through Gorou's psyche I don't think it will happen. I also don't think Keane was necessarily wrong to tell Gorou to get off the mound; it's frustrating for me as a viewer that he can't/won't snap Gorou out of it, but he's just a different type of catcher than Toshiya is. I can't really hold that against him. I do hope Gorou gets past this soon enough though. It's the first major mental barrier he's encountered since Little League. I don't think this one will be as easy to fix either since there's no straightforward method to remove the fear like the Yokohama Little coach did before by taking a deadball to the face. |

| interesting to me that so many people think if it was a different catcher, they would be able to help Goro out. i don’t think it would have gone better with any catcher, even Sato. it was clearly a deep psychological problem, and “snapping out” of it with a few words of advice or any other kind of action did not seem possible. a condition of the mentality/brain isn’t usually so simple. |

But holy shit was I getting nervous during this episode.. but honestly, if this is how it ends by Goro taking himself out of the game, what the hell kind of ending is THAT?!? I hope someone slaps him in the face and tells him to get back out there. They may lose if he stays in, but no player/coaches would be upset with him at least trying for a no-no. |
| liked they brought the firs theme back, the music style actually make sense for this "mature" baseball, though there's a lot of spoilers, i really take from it that there's going to be more shimizu moments, hopefully. poor goro, though he get over on the lose, it's seems he have a big mental problem, much like the S1 pitching problem, but i think it wouldn't be so easy as then. and that owner should just die. |
| Almost off to a great debut match but too bad Goro is anything but calm and even leaves the mound thanks to that guy almost hitting a homerun towards the foul pole. |
