| I liked it, their first "bond" shared through a cigarette. I can't see where this is going yet, but I hope it won't be more torture, and even more tortures one after another. The crime they committed, were they serious enough for them to deserve these kind of treatment? To be honest I don't think so. OP was pretty good but I didn't like the ED. Edit: I really like how they started the episode with "We believe the explicit scenes of this animated work are rather important in bringing out the atmosphere of this time period." P.S. Paku Romi as one of the voice actor? :) Edit2: The OST/BGM were pretty good. |

| After the doll scene, I didn't know which side to pick. As the norm, we all look down upon "criminals" as the scum of society, but we don't always see the unfortunate or the ones who were forced to become worse than nothing. |

| This is my type of anime. Dark atmosphere, GAR main character, and a bunch of wusses that are well on their way to becoming men. Nobody expects the rod up the ass! Sakuragi is GAR as fuck. He's like a less cheesy Kamina and he's even nicknamed bro! The OP is also really sick! Great first episode 9/10 |

| Its kind of predictable but I don't like how they're making everyone other than main cast as the bad guys. I won't be surprised if that Sasaki guy makes a move on Joe. I hope I'm wrong tho. |

| That was edgy as fuck. It was so overdone and dramatized with everything it did. It's literally beating that theme of abuse of authoritative power into us just as hard as that guy was beat. All the characters are giving me angsty Eren vibes, which is never good. |

| Rainbow...another anime that I had on my to watch list since like...forever (about 6 years) I kept wanting to watch it and watch it but something always came up, so I guess this is the big day :) Very good 1st episode, the characters seem great...this might be a major hit :) The cigarette scene messed a bit with my cravings though.. lol 5/5 |

| Damnn son... That doc went DEEEP! All we could see was the elbow hanging out. Now speaking seriously: great first episode, love the dark aura and looks very promising. 5/5 BTW, the narrator's voice fits superbly and I admire how it's different from the usual deep male voice. |

| This is one of the best first episode I have seen I love the way they interduced the characters, the environment is really different from other anime, Loved the op. Next episode Joe will try to escape from that so called disciplinary school. |

| What an impactful start! The abuse was so infuriating, so frustrating, but their connection with each other felt so natural, so, I don't know, human, it was like they clicked straight away. That opening scene with the tree in which they carved their dream was great too, I don't who is narrating it, and I don't know why I do this to myself, but I think I'm going to watch it all. They all seem to carry a really heavy emotional baggage too, and the time period is as "welcoming" as they get. I still didn't learn all of their names, but the ones I'm most interested in are Sakuragi, their "Bro", and Joe. The poor guy just tried to give back that doll to the girl, possibly because he was reminded of his sister or just because he is a good person, and ended up being scorned at, and getting the first beat up. That despicable fiend disguised as a "doctor" also seemed more interested on him than in the others. Well, the next episode seems to be focused on him so I guess that I have to brace myself for whatever hellish punishment is coming. |

| I've seen this get praised alot, but I've also seen some criticism of it. I've seen some people call this suffering porn and in a way it's obvious why considering the setting this takes place in. It has to have the right balance of light & dark, hope and despair to not come off as shallow or plain edgy, so I really hope the latter doesn't end up being the case. Might be kind of difficult considering this take place in a post-WWII prison in Japan. If done right this could turn out like The Shawshank Redemption. |
| Wow.. am I ever late to the party. I just started this show and I am absolutely blown away. I watched the entire first episode with clenched fists. I was angry, yet sad. Anyone else hate the little girl at the beginning? (I know she's just a kid... but to go out of your way and toss the doll out the bus window in spite?) **** off, you little ****. Amazing intro to each of the characters and to Sakuragi of course. I have no idea what's going to happen, but am already seeing some foreshadowing. Should I stay away from getting too attached to any of the characters?.... I'm seeing death flags everywhere :'( |

| After being in an anime slump for a long time I am finally getting hooked to this series 😌 newer shows don't grab my attention anymore. I like that OP song too I watch it every time. And that main theme sounds cool too around the last 20 minutes. |
