come to think of it, he does remind me of Gorillaz. Loved the first episode, had little doubt about quality when its at BONES hands', the only thing tat stood out was Maka's voice, wouldn't say its bad, probably just fresh =D

Holy crap, this was a awesome first eps of a series, i'm hooked already. Not only was it high quality, but the art was awesome. The music is totaly me as well. What is there NOT to like about soul eater? Nothing, unless your crazy.

I liked everything about the first episode. The animation was slick and the action was pretty cool. lol @ tiny tits.

The voices of every character was acceptable in my book. Nothing bad to say, yet. I hope the quality continues like this, although I kind of have my doubts since it's 51 episodes.

I hope that every fight is as wonderfully "choreographed" and stylish as the one with Jack the Ripper. And he was just a MINOR enemy. I can't wait to see fights with stronger villains. I loved Maka's voice. She sounds nice, subdued, and bored. Considering how epic her fighting style is, the voice adds a ton to her character.

And yeah, the ending is amazing. Loved the song and animation.

Loved the visuals.

Maka's va didn't really bother me.



This may be just me, but her voice reminds me of the the girl who sings the melon pan song, only add on a few years. This popped into my head after I went to bed last night, since I thought her voice was familiar too.

Now, add to that that Katou Emiri is voicing her =D

Everything was great to me, art and animation, voice acting, comedy, action, loved it all. 51 episodes? Let's hope it only gets better

Maka's voice bothered me compared to Soul's...
His seemed much much more matured, and older compared to her's.
And yet, personaility wise that isn't true.
What's up witht that?

Otherwise, I liked it.

Great first episode. I got used to the voices of Maka and Soul pretty quickly. And the ED is definitely the best of the season so far.

Agreed. It's so nice to hear something different from the typical females.

I didn't know what to expect (never read the manga), but I'm enjoying it. I love the unrealism of it -- if you're gonna do fantasy, might as well do it with a big SPLASH! I can see the Dad getting annoying fast though ^^

51 episodes makes me shy, but I enjoyed this first episode thoroughly, so I can't help but anticipate more :)

The anime was awesome but i am pretty sure it will have plenty of fan service just like the manga

The first seconds of the op were amazing. Such a complex and fluid animation.

Impressive.

Also in the show, some fighting scenes and part of the design are amazing.

But I don't really like the childish characters and those annoying comedy chars like the headmaster and her dad. That's not funny. I did not laugh one time ...

I don't like the character design, though I have to admit Make looks rather refreshing. School uniform looks like stolen from Harry Potter, but kind of cool.

Anyway story seems pretty boring and generic (Bleach, D.Gray), so this would be the first show of the season I am actually considering to drop. Story and character-depth is most important for me. Didn't like it very much.

Maybe I am too old for this.

Didin't expect soul eater to be this good.
The only thing i didin't like was Shinigami and Maka seiyuu. Besides that, everuthing is great, especially the animation.
The only problem is if the anime is going to faithfully follow the manga.

The animation was very impressive, it's not always that you see CG actually feeling right in an anime. The fight scenes were great too, specially Jack's one.
