*walks in, looks blankly around the empty room, and sighs heavily*

Oi, what a mess.

*runs a finger along the teacher's desk and dusts hands together*

Well, at least I won't have to live up to any high expectations!

*laughs aloud and then turns to walk out of the class room*

*walks into the room with hands on hips, wearing an overstuffed shoulder bag*

Alright, alright. Time to get started.

*dumps the entire contents of her bag onto the teachers desk, causing a small cloud of dust to rise. Heavy books slide onto the desk and pens roll along the surface until they clatter to the floor. She looks down at the pile very pleased.*

*walks over to open the windows, then walks into the hallway for a moment. When she returns, she is straining to drag in a large green sofa. Sitting on one of the cushions is a tray of fresh-baked cookies. The scent of the cookies carries out into the hallway and out the windows.*

*finally, walks over to the window and leans out to look at the students gathering in the yard below.*

Oiiiii! You students! Any of you in my language class? Class is starting soon and I need people to talk to. Come up! I have cookies!

*grins down at everyone and leans her arms on the window sill to see their reaction*

*walks into class on time carrying the text book for the class*

*Looks behind her at the student walking in, smiles*

Anywhere. Sofa, at a student desk, the floor. Doesn't matter so long as you're comfortable. Cookie?

*Gestures to the plate still sitting on the couch*

what kind are they? im allergic to chocolate, downside to my power.

Sugar. I figure a simple recipe is good for the first day.

*leans back against the window frame*

Nothing like starting at a new school. Name's Devin Page, by the way. Devin or Dev, if you like. No reason to be too formal here. What can I call you?

Kit. Nice to meet you miss... erm, I mean Devin.

Haha, if Miss Page is more comfortable for you, it's fine. Did you know that the earliest use of the word "miss" in regards to a woman was for a prostitute or concubine? That was in 1645, and not for twenty years would it be used as simply a title for an unmarried girl. Of course, that original meaning is all washed out now, but it's pretty interesting, hm? But don't let that stop you if you want to call me Miss. Doesn't matter to me.

*grins big*

And it's nice to meet you, too, Kit. Mind if we just keep chatting a little? We can start a more detailed lesson if you want, but I figure it might be a good idea to wait a little longer to see if other students arrive.

*A cookie floats into my hand as I walk to a desk towards the back of the classroom, start eating it while taking a seat.

*holds cookie up

That's a good cookie, Miss.

*Walks over to the open window in the classroom and begins to wave at someone on the roof of another building

*raises an eyebrow at Raz's ability to call cookies to himself and watches as he goes to the window*

Oi, don't fall out.

*turns away and steps out into the hallways to look around. returns to the class room and sighs*

Well, if this is all we're going to get, you two are welcome to a free period. Seems that's what people have been taking during this time before there was a teacher anyway. Cookies can't compete with that. I'll have to try new tactics. Class dismissed.

*begins to pack up her bag*
