It's been awhile since I last watched the original Bakuretsu Tenshi so I don't remember the story too much, but this OVA was pretty good. It's still Bakuretsu Tenshi to the core with all the action and Jo gunplay. The intro was pretty cool (although they used the same song as the original which isn't a bad thing since it's pretty catchy nevertheless) since it looks like they all grew up and Meg was no longer the "damsel in distress" (she now looks awesome XD). Although too bad this episode didn't have the new Meg look :(. Also, I'm not sure where this first episode fits into the Bakuretsu Tenshi timeline but it was pretty good for a return to duty so to speak episode. Again, I've always liked Jo with the long hair but alas that didn't last too long :P. Also, Meg gets kidnapped again, she seems to have a knack for that but her shot at the end was pretty sweet ^_^ (right through the camera). Anyways, looking forward to the next OVA release. |

Yop, I gotta agree with ya zanmato, I sorta still remember the series plot, but this OVA is based on another story I reckon..lookin from ep1 that was released, tho it's still kickass in the scenes where Jo takes action...and yeah it's a bit frustrating why Meg is always the weak babycry type, but I guess all in all that's what makes it exciting how Jo always return to back Meg up from nowhere. |

I certainly do hope Meg will be more like we saw in the opening later on...Now she was still pretty much as annoying as before... But I must say, the plot really makes no sense to me...Both Jo and Sei supposedly died along with Maria in the end of the first series, yet Jo is still alive, and both Sei and Maria appears in the intro... And yet, it seems to be connected with the first one, seeing how Meg had Jo's scarf and how Kyohei appears as a chef with a castle in the background, which probably means he finaly got to study cooking in France... But then again, supposedly dying in an explosion is a well used plot device...I just hope they care to explain a bit more as to how they survived... ![]() |

I finished the TV show a few mins before I watched this episode and at the end of the TV show they were showing Meg in the outfit you see in the intro of this ep. Anyway, I liked it. The animation is slightly better and I'm looking forward to more. |

Not a great episode, but it brought back some memories for me. One of my favorite pieces of music, Kurutta Kajutsu, was played at the start followed by the original series OP, Loosey. I like the references to Freddy Kreuger, Jason Vorheys, and Pinhead (don't know the other two) in the horror flick Jo was watching. Seems like they had taken a captive and decided to have dinner with her... ordering burgers and such. WTF?! One thing that confused me was how the cybot fell through the guard rail after blowing up. It didn't go over, but through... without damaging the guard rail. Hmm... I had forgotten how weak Meg was as she once again knocked out and kidnapped. Sometimes I wonder if her kidnappers do anything to violate her body... I mean the opportunity is there. Also, the crying... sheesh. The ED sequence showed parts of the original series when Jo, Meg, and the kids lived together. Pretty cool. This episode showed missing scenes and action between the time Jo and Meg left to when they joined up with Sai. I guess the next will show how the two meet up with Sai and that loli... what was her name... oh year, Amy. I hope that I will get to see the aftermath of ending of the series. Will Meg be a stronger willed person and be able to handle herself? From the OP theme sequence, it looks like she handles herself quite well. Looking forward to it. |

I'm currently watching Bakuretsu Tenshi (AKA Burst Angel) on Animax LA, and I have to admit that I was very impressed when I saw the first episode of the OVAS 'cause the animation is totally different. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 ^_^ OMG DONT CLICK ON "SPOILER" THERE's HENTAI !!! |

It is different, I finished the TV on the same day I started the OVA and it seemed a bit different to me as well. |

If it was a one-off thing the site wouldn't still show it as currently airing. OVAs just take a long time for each episode to become available since they're released straight to video rather than to television once a week. |

lol What a crappy story. But that's beside the point of the OVA. lol So that's how Jo's hair became short. EDIT: Never mind. It's the Ugetsu Hakua Special on the DVD. Modified by Asrialys, 11-14-07, 8:38 PM |

Personally, I prefer this OVA to the original series. There are still some loopholes in the plot and some inconsistencies, but the animation, the costume designs, and the story was overall much better than the original. I wish it was this quality throughout the whole series instead of just the OVA. :/ |
