| Holy shit. I was waiting for this moment to happen. I knew for the fact that something was going to happen when Shinji lost maneuvers to Eva-01. I was like "Oh come on awaken already go go go!" and then after a brief moment. I finally got it, the awaken version of Eva-01. I wasn't expecting it to be a gorilla though. Also, why did the yellow-hair scientist said "She's finally awaken now." Was she referring to Eva-01 being a girl or was she referring to Shinji's mother? I still think Shinji's mother is inside of Eva-01, lol. I was expecting Shinji to come back since he just can't leave NERV. It's probably because his only relative is there, his father. He tried to leave once but he just can't do it. Well, his arrival made him looked like a hero though since noone couldn't pilot Eva-01 but himself. So what about Rei? Is she dead? For some reason I'm not worried about her death. I don't know. I'm just feeling that there are many Rei's and that this Rei was only one of that many Rei's. XD |

| Holy shit...Asuka getting her arms and head chopped off was rather brutal, same with Rei trying to suicide bomb with a goddamn nuke. And on top of all that, Unit 01 goes fully berserk and freaking slaughters and eats the Angel. That scene--actually the entire episode was pretty horrific. I guess an Eva really is just an angel with a human spirit inserted into it--in this case Shinji's mom. Damn...nice twist. Kaji was also rather awesome this episode. Things are REALLY heating up now, and I can't wait to see how this all unfolds. Probably just gonna marathon the rest tonight. |

| This episode was freaking sweet. I had a feeling Shinji would come back. The ending was freaking terrifying as well as being insanely awesome. Best episode so far and I'm glad I stuck with this anime past the first half of the series. |

| Rei blowing herself up with a suicide run nuke. Shitson. Shinji's moment of bassass was overshadowed by the Eva evolving and casting off it's mecha form. Seems very few people in NERV actually know who they are working for. Eat Angels, not Penguins. |

| This episode was the best to this moment, indeed. We finally saw character build up on Shinji and he finally did something on his own will. I really detest the way he got in the Eva too late - the cost might be Rei's life and maybe even Asuka's life. Not to mention all the people who where dependent on him. He was too naive to this point, let's see where his path will lead to. Kaji was really cool and motivating this time... |

Shinji's big ''fc*k you guys'' scene, Asuka getting owned, Rei's suicide hero attempt, and Shinji is just a straight up BAMF! I think my favorite ''Gundam'' character has some new competition! Berserker, desperation, and insanity, AND mech's eating mech's = AMAZING SH*T! I haven't said this in many months, but, I cannot wait for the next episode! |

| I really like how the angles are getting tougher each time; this last one was no joke. It took down all there Evas without too much trouble. Only Unit-1’s berserk mode saved the day. I also disagree with the idea that Shinji is running away. There is a point where a person has to say enough is enough and I believe Shinji has done enough to be justified in making that call. |

A 14-year old boy who had his father abandon him during the time of his mother's death, has an introverted personality, practically forced into defending everyone with the pressure of knowing that humanity's fate is in his hands, shoved into awkward situations of social interactions and sexual tensions, and finally, So people say Shinji is weak and whiny? No, he's acting normal for someone in his position. For someone like him to charge up and destroy Zeruel (the angel in the episode) like that it actually takes some serious balls. | i really recoiled at the scene where eva sprouted a human arm and was eating the angel. oh my :x i think this ep really takes it to the next level and shinji's running away part II. i don't disagree with his decision, especially after seeing your friend torn apart in front of your eyes. there's a lot of barriers to surmount for him - guilt, cruelty in front of his eyes and all but i'm glad he chose to return. |

| Holy freaking shit, was that great or what? Shinji has now become one of my favorite characters for what he did in the beginning of this episode. Well, actually, he was pretty fucking awesome in the entirety of the episode. |

| Quite an ironic ending for Zeruel, who utterly dominated Nerv's defenses and the EVA's then finds itself on the other side of the yard when EVA 01 finally awakens. |

| Well that's a different way to kill an angel O_O well I was aware that those eve's had some biologic part to it but to be a hybrid from the angels them self... damn really weird but great episode but if I'm right there's only 1 eve operational now and that eve is run loose? I still wonder how it could even operate without power even if their sync rate is 400% it shouldn't be possible, should it? |

| When Ritsuko referred to the Eva as a she, I couldn't help but realize that "Eva" is extremely similar to "Eve". Allusion to the story of Adam and Eve, probably? Then again, probably not. And also my jaw dropped when I saw the Angel close up its core and Rei blew up. 5/5 |
