| Nice to see Micheal and Nana eventually having that romantic moment Finally the backstory of other Nana, looks pretty dark and cool compared to the ''loose woman' lifestyle the first Nana had. They have a lot more in common than I thought besides their name and living circumstances. |

| One other thing I knew about NANA before going in was that it had no qualms about featuring sex as part of its story. It's something I don't see too often, as whenever it comes up, it's usually done in a fetishistic way as opposed to anything plot or character related. Here, it's definitely used as a means to establish a physical and emotional bond between characters, but NANA presents romance as easily diluted. Love isn't straightforward for either of the Nanas, and it's tempting to try and draw parallels between them. After all, the OP opens up showing both their rooms mirroring each other, possibly implying that while they're similar on the surface, they've buried a lot of emotional baggage behind their locked doors. Sex doesn't necessarily have anything to do with a long term relationship, and as circumstances change, what is thought as love can be tossed aside. That seems to be a core tenant of NANA, where it mixes flawed characters with differing, fleeting goals and an unclear impression of what they think true romance is, or if it even exists. I think they all want to love and be loved, but they keep hurting themselves and each other in the process. |
| Definitely a better change. I much prefer the mature and gothic atmosphere of the cool Nana's backstory. Can't wait to see where this goes. The characters are very well done. Truly drives this show. |

| I didn't know we'd start Nana O's story in this episode so that was a nice surprise. I wanted to know more about her. Even with the forewarning, I am surprised by how mature the show is--how certain things are presented and covered. I expected that to some degree though. Loving Nana K's reaction to Shoji's forwardness. Her reactions in general are great. |
