I was hoping someone in this group could recommend some animes to me. =) I'm looking for more in the genre of Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, Elfen Lied, and Ghost Hunt. I can't get enough of those really creepy ones. I loved those three, so I wanted to know if there were more that fall into the same sort of category, and I figured here would be a good place to ask. Thanks for any suggestions! |

You could try Ghost Hound, Serial Experiments Lain and Boogiepop Phantom. They are all pretty creeopy. You could also look at Ayakashi classic Japanese Horror and Mononoke, a different style but the same sort of story. |

Ghost Hound is definitely very creepy. Hakaba Kitarou has a creepy vibe to it, too, but it's not outright scary. |

I think I've found what could suits you since you already saw elfen lied (ghost hunt and higurashi ^^). I often compared elfen lied and Shingetsutan Tsukihime, both are short animes (12 eps) and have a very creepy background. Don't pay attention to the angelic faces of the character or anything else, just watch it ^^ |

Hitsuji no Uta is really on the dark, bloody, horror side. Gave me chills. |

Boogiepop Phantom Gunslinger Girl (don't be fooled by the title; it's pretty damn violent and mature) |

Ayakashi Very creepy. All 3 stories but the last one takes the crown for me. Kikoushi Enma Demon hunters, hunted places and lets not forget talking hats. Le Portrait de Petit Cossette One of the scariest and creepiest things I've ever seen. |

If you want Darkness, Psychology, mind-bending twists and plain Bloodshed, I recommend Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni and its sequels. (but you already watched that hahah) Try Umineko no Naku Koro ni but i think it's not as good as Higurashi. There's also Jigoku Shoujo but it's a little light and predictable. School Days: pretty insane if you stick to it til the end. Chaos;Head is a good psychological but a little misplaced and not dark anough. But really don't mind my "buts" because as this club say, everyone as his own preferences and tastes when it comes to dark/horror anime. |

I wouldn't define Code Geass as creepy but it is amazing (season 2 is one of my all time favorites)... Personally, Lain ended my psychoanalytical phase of my anime watching career. I felt that it tried to be too deep and ended up just losing all credibility... The end of Neon Genesis Evangelion is pretty creepy and of course there is a creepy aspect to Vampire Knight. ![]() |

Edit: Just realized this thread is from '08 >,< Creepy would get you Akira Claymore maybe, its more action Ookami Kakushi Paranoia Agent Serial Experiments Lain Uriel1988 said: Boogiepop Phantom Gunslinger Girl (don't be fooled by the title; it's pretty damn violent and mature) I gotta say that Gunslinger Girl is really twisted. I've been having this love/hate relationship with it for awhile. The animation and action is pretty poorly done in the first season (I have the second season but haven't watched it yet). And the technology is a gaping plothole for the mechanized bodies. But the story, gosh, the story really takes "love" and harnesses its power for control. Whether the girls are beaten or scolded by their trainers they don't care and they'd do anything for them. But it's all programming. It's messed up. hazelinventado said: If you want Darkness, ... Definition of creepy: 1. Of or producing a sensation of uneasiness or fear, as of things crawling on one's skin: a creepy feeling; a creepy story. 2. Annoyingly unpleasant; repulsive: the creepy kids next door. I have to say that I haven't really found a "creepy" anime, but there have been creepy characters. Some that come to mind: - Ryuk from Death Note - Ergo Proxy from Ergo Proxy =) - Alucurd from Hellsing - Iwamoto Kogan from Shigurui Actually, Le Portrait de Petit Cossette was kindof creepy. That's all I can think of...I haven't seen Gunslinger Girl, Claymore, Akira or Ookami Kakushi, so I can't comment on those. |

Can anyone recommend something that's along the lines of Elfen Lied? |
