| I'm really excited to begin reading this novel. Kizumonogatari is the first story written by Nisi Oisin that I haven't seen the anime for beforehand. This will give me a chance see what his writing is like without already knowing what will happen. This chapter strikes me as odd. The idea that everyone becomes more miserable feels logically and thematically correct, but it doesn't fully mesh with what has been presented before. Araragi had no friends and no real interactions with people outside his family. He had no goals and no prospect for goals. His life was already miserable. I'm curious to see if he expands upon this idea. |
