Well, looks like he's dead ):

Ah well, in a way, I didn't really like him, but he made Simon have faith in himself, so that's good!

I thought Kamina was the guy in the Prologue. Guess not. Damn it... :(

Didn't expect him to die. D:

I liked Yoko x Kamina. Feel bad for Simon, but still.

What happens now?

Kamina is so hard not to like, even though I hate how all the girls love his bad boy personality, he was such a great guy and he was Simon's idol. I hated how Yoko went after him but I didn't hate him, I think he was one of the craziest guys ever. But when push comes to shove, he needed to get out of the way so the other characters could have their emo development moments, so I see why this happened.

What to say. I was so annoyed by that stupid bitch at the beginning (Yoko). Also I was accidentally spoiled of the major event here (Kamina's death) by reading it somewhere else, I think it was when I searched for the uncut 6th episode.

Thus, this episode annoyed me to no end. Over-the-top action. The drama didn't cut it for me, except for the heart breaking of the hero (forgot his name). Thus Kamina's death is very welcome in order for our hero to get badass improvement (and maybe that stupid Yoko)

Anyway, the cartoonish, nearly one-piece like animation/art style does no crap to me when it comes for emotion imo.

Maybe it's because I exhausted my stock of tears by watching Mirai Nikki and Steins;Gate this week...

I just don't see why so much praise for Gurren Lagann >_>

I'll give it two more episodes before dropping it I guess.

Wow what a big character development! Yoko kissing Kamina, though I feel kinda sad for Simon...

Either way that ending battle was SUPER EPIC :D

Up to the next episode now that they have that fortress gunmen!

I do hope Kamina is just unconscious, he's a main character he couldn't die, could he?

It's safe to say I did not see that coming... Well i kinda did given the whole Yoko-kiss thing; i figured that Simon would screw up and get Kamina killed and yup that's exactly what happened. Plus the title of the episode is a giveaway -_-

I'm sad now, what's gonna happen when Team Gurren's fearless leader is gone!? Who's gonna take charge?! Simon??? Don't make me laugh. I hope Yoko will step up, she always seemed to be the most capable next to Kamina.

By the way, what is it with anime and its constant killing of lovable characters RIGHT when we get to know them?! It's depressing, i get enough of that in real life!

Kamina was very cool... He my favorite person in this anime...

what i liked about his death is that he didnt go all "NO but i have a destiny! a future ahead of me! why is this happening?!". He knew he was going to be dead soon and spent his last breath urging the others to go on and learn to believe in themselves and push themselves onwards.

According to word of god he was dead after the first attack. Point Blank. He literally brought himself back from the dead to kick ass and then go for good, for his loved ones and friends. So his words when he got back up were MUCH more meaningful than we let ourselves believe when we see it.

Now I can understand why this has a lot of replies in compared to other early episodes.

I didn't expect anyone of the main character to die of this early so yeah this was a good episode.

Hope Kamina's death will make Simon an even more likeable character and not a whining wuss. 5/5

Eh I thought this was going to happen because Kamina kissed yoko which was basically like his last supper.

nooooooooooooooooooooo! so emotional right now... such feelings.

I know that this is permanent.. it has to be or it'd be BS storytelling to make us go on a roller coaster like that...

but SHIT. I miss him <3 my fave chara by far! and Koko and him finally had a moment.

This is an amazing show. No one is safe.

Still have to get past this episode.....

this huge plot twist not only shocks you that they killed off arguably thee main character at that point, but foreshadows things to come and taking the show to a level you can't even imagine

Huh. I come here, kinda reminded of the show and curious what people's reactions to this episode were... And it feels weird to agree with EVERYONE.
Kamina died. Oh no, he was so awesome! - True that.
Kamina died. Well, finally! - I know, right?
Kamina died. So what? - Yeah, not that big of a deal.

I admit, the only thing I can't agree with are claims like "gonna drop, he was the sole reason I watched". When I watched the series, I was so tired of it and I think this episode caused me to stick with it. If they can kill their protagonist (bait and switch protagonist to be exact), maybe they CAN tell an interesting story after all. And... They didn't really. But it was a great ride of excitement and craziness even with a messy story.

Overrated? Definitely. But I'm glad I watched it. So don't drop after this episode, people, there's plenty more to come. A lot changes after this episode, the series gets into the second half of the first half, so to say. The second half also consists of two halfs. And it gets better and better (even if the highlight IS the first half of the second half for me).

What the fuck was that?

Damn Kamnia die. He was an awesome character. What next? Sighs Simoin needs to stop thinking about that kiss.
May skip this episode. Isn't the same withouut Kamina
