Great. Ninja's with 'tricks'. Still don't know whether or not to trust that girl. Seems like Sano may figure it out.

Lol Kaoru's reaction when she saw Kenshin with that girl. Sano's the only one who suspects that girl might have something to do with the opium.

Fire belching... And I thought that Kurogasa's "shin-no-ippo" was over the top.

Boring. Cliche all over this episode. Typical MC, sidekick guy who will basically never be as good, and feels very episodic.

This 'no-killing' policy is really bullshit. Does it change?

It just kills the tension, it would've worked as character development but first you need to actually show him killing and second you need to develop the character.

If you want to see Kenshin killing, I recommend you watch Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Tsuiokuhen before continuing further. It's not ranked so high for no reason.

It's a real masterpiece. I personally felt like watching it first made me enjoy reading through the main story of Kenshin much more and made me appreciate Kenshin himself more. I doubt I would've liked Rurouni Kenshin as much without it.

I honestly did not expect someone/something that huge to show up, and I don't trust that new female.

She must be the cook, that's why she is so vital to the organization. But Sanozuke is on top of things, next episode looks packed with action.

Dang, that guy was fat and ugly. o.O Why are all the bad guys so ugly? XP Anyway, wonder what'll happen with that chick... Sanosuke seems to be figuring something out. And LOL at poor Kaoru, she was crying so hilariously. XD

I just hope he doesn't do anything stupid before she prepare the antidote. After that, he can do whatever he want, for what I care.

Kenshingumi, that sound pretty cool. It got less class than Shinsengumi, but it sound better than Mimawarigumi :P

You are probably right. She seem to know a lot of chemistry.

That big guy was a little much - seriously, he was bigger than the wall?! A pretty good episode but it had so much expository dialogue too. This new situation with the opium is kind of creepy (just thinking about some personal stuff with a real creep that was really messing up some people that I know), and it is odd how much this show shifts in tone.

I can only assume that those Kenshingumi references in other posts are what the opium chick calls Kenshin when he's protecting her (like the Shinsengumi police force). In the dub she calls him "Sir Ken" like a knight.

really dangerous to blindly trust women; those guys seem pretty nasty though and at the end it seemed like maybe she wasn't so bad. I agree you should be cautious but there could be more to the story than just appearances. i bet she was forced to do something she didn't like and that's why she is trying to run away.

I decided to pick this up again while I wait for Kyoto Disturbance. Other than Gensai's granddaughters, some changes to backgrounds (like some fights are at night instead of in the day and vice-versa), are not so different so far. I'm mainly going to be commenting on the anime-original parts.

Novels I have read/am reading pending approval: since November 10 2022
