Canute is turning out to be really cool. I like him, King of England.

What a badass bastard he has become. He can serve as a great antagonistic in this series. I want Thorfin to take him down

Good to see Canute and the others are doing fine, now more Thorfinn in the next chapters hopefully.

The time flies by, and it's already two years after. What happened to Thorfinn during that period of time?

Hold on a second... So Canute basically poisoned Ethelred and his son... And then we see angry Thorkel drinking wine in the end. You don't think he poisoned Thorkel as well, do you?! That would sure suck.

i think vinland saga takes the cake for the manga with the most amount of non stop badassery. what would be pro is if thorfinn and canute teamed up.

I think it's awesome how the author - although using this chapter [and the last] as little more than plot devices to give a general idea of what's going on in the Vinland Saga world - STILL manages to make the chapter awesome. I love it.

for me this manga is starting to fizzle down as far as excitement goes, I pretty much hate Canute's character type and would prefer seeing thorfinn... if it wasn't for the fact that he is now a pansy.

But this was awesome, and can only lead to more awesome in the next chapters. I do want to see Thorfinn, but the fact that Thorkel was on this chapter makes up for it.

Just finished reading the whole thing, it's been a long time since I enjoyed a manga so much.
I felt like the in the last chapters it was kinda slowing down tough, and I don't really see where he's going with Thorfinn, but maybe it's normal since it's the beginning of a new arc.

That one dude Canute was talking to looked like he seriously shat some brick in that one panel.

Srsly, he's kinda creepy now.

I thought we were gonna see some Wicker Man type shit go down, but alas...

I always liked Canute actually. The only thing I ever disliked about her is how she killed the best goddamn character in the story.

Now apparently Canute has no qualms with doing what it takes to become queen, by hook or by crook. Of course Thorkell doesn't like it because he'd prefer Canute doing something a little bit more directly violent.

Meanwhile on a farm somewhere...nothing interesting is happening at all. Oh wait! Nope...nevermind. Nothing. HOWEVER! Stay tuned for more exciting episodes where wars are concluded within a single chapter but the menial toils of slaves have their own mini-sagas.

Wow, the scar and stubble made Canute look less girly, (and kinda sexy). I welcome the change to both his appearance and personality, and can't wait until he and Thorfinn meet up again.

I've been marathoning the series in the last couple of days and can't decide between it and Historie as my favorite on-going manga.
