It's not cut from the same cloth as Dragon Ball (like Naruto, and such) but from Hokuto no Ken so you know it will be awesome. You can begin reading Steel Ball Run since it is an alternate universe of the series. Both Part 1 (Phantom Blood) and Part 7 (SBR) are set in 1890 but have a different cast of characters. Some names are retained and a couple of story elements from the previous 6 parts but all in all, a newbie can jump straight to SBR. |

| Brilliant episode indeed. It was very intense and very emotional. Axel Ro is definitely a threatening an opponent, even when Johnny discovers this new hax ability. Slim Valentine came at the surprising moment just when Johnny was at a difficult moment whether to kill Axel or not. It just makes me wonder if Valentine did not shoot the latter from behind, how would the battle go uninterrupted? |

| One of my fav arcs in the series! I loved Johnny and Gyro having to confront there troubled past and the development Kohnny undergoes. My boy evolved and has become OP with Tusk (which has been a lame stand compared to other Jojo’s). |

| This was definitely one of the best arcs I've read, and the music goes well, too. Finally Araki referenced Guns n' Roses after he missed this opportunity with Holly in part 3. It's aso interesting that Johnny basically died twice in this arc, is the new Johnny the same as before or not? |

| i still don't understand why the president shot axl. he could've just run away with the corpse, while axl and johnny were still fighting. in fact, this would have made things way easier for him. decent arc. ending made no sense. |
| The plot twist at the end was marvelous! I thought it might've been Hot Pants who had somehow freed herself, but it was Mr. Valentine! Man, this arc was great, no - each next arc is awesome and even better than the previous one. Can't wait to see the next one. |

| Funny Valentine the type of president to waltz into a warzone pick up the corpse of Jesus Christ refuse to elaborate and leave. The best Jojo villian by far but honestly he's more of an antihero. |
