Really? No one said anything about this episode? I thought it was darn cool and really liked the cliff hanger ending. Even if we can rest assure that Mugan is fine :) .
Such junk...

Hah, kind of strange that they think Mugen would just stand on a burning ship and die. At least the two... "siblings" (are they really?) should know that he's the type that'll choose how he dies, as he said before throwing himself off the cliff earlier in the episode, in one of the flashbacks... But the cliffhanger was still cool, I agree. :)

Seriously, I thought this was also a really amazing episode. We had an epic Jin episode, and I thought this was an epic Mugen one. Really liked learning about his past too. :D

Awesome episode. Learned about Mugen's life this time. Mukuro is a douche. His sister is...sort of annoying. I don't like how she's sort of weak.

Man! That was one creepy brother the way her touched his little sisters face at that point when he revealed his plans for betrayal to her! Ugh!

Good epsiode, but i'm guessing Mugen had plenty of time to jump ship before it exploded! I mean, he's super fast and agile in fights!

Right after that re-cap we get a full blown Mugen episode. We learned about his childhood growing up on that exiled island with 2 companions, and pretty much what kind of lifestyle and missions he was involved in before the story began. It's no wonder he can't read and has a really high survival instinct (yeah that's right, that explosion isn't taking out our boy).

I liked the whole mission planning and the pirate feel to this episode, I thought Mugen was Zoro for a second steering that ship lol, but Mugen isn't as one-dimensional so it was even more fun ^^.

Oh yeah, loved the "hiking towards the sea" scene with the trio too, it made me want to go to a park! (Too bad it's winter right now lol).

5/5, really looking forward to part 2! Hang in there Mugen, your friend Jin has unsheathed his sword for you as well!

We finally got to see something about Mugen's past!
But other than that this episode wasnt that great.. mainly because it was weird and made no sense. Also the new girl is kinda annoying.
Things that made no sense:
why would mugen even make that bet in the horse riding scene? If he doesn't want to participate he just shouldn't because obviously no one tells him what to do.
Mukuro and Mugen supposedly have grown up together and done lots of things together but there is nothing but hatred between them. Not even a hint to a possible gone by friendship.
And what did Mukuro need Mugen for in the first place? Whatever.
The episode wasn't nearly as good as it could've been unfortunately

I'm sure Mugen survived that explosion. After all, he's a main character.

Great episode as expected considering its the ending of season 1 and it has a part 2.. (I learned that from cowboy bebop :P)
Jin shows emotion ! I really like his personality, he honors his promise and cares for his friends even if he doesnt show it..

Mugen does stuff because he damns well pleases. Also it was a challenge to him so he accepted.
Also they could have been friends but then one betrayed the other.
He wanted to kill him thats why he wanted him for the job , so he could be on the ship while he blows it up.
Nothing inconsistent there.

this show's kind of sexist. i don't think there have been any strong female characters so far. fuu is kind of just... there. to be protected.

Can you picture watching the children/women of your village killed and your later force to fight your fellow friend/neighbor for a false chance at survival...

After finishing up the episode, I wanted to hate Mukuro younger sister, but I realize she just another victim (sexually) and this life is all she knows.

Bit of a letdown that they didn't show the scene of what Jin investigated.

Seeing people Mugen grew up with was interesting and learning more of his childhood.

Still, it's terrible that that guy, who was supposed to be his friend would betray Mugen. But then again that happens plenty in the real world too.

I can't believe he left him on a burning boat to die.
