THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- A fair start, I mistakenly started reading Saiyuki before this, and all I can say is that it gets better. I didn't like the manga recycling/*incarnating* the character designs, despite that their personalities are more develop in Saiyuki. ☺ 6/10 Modified by TuzoAnime, 02-09-10, 6:37 PM  |

I liked this quite a bit and am glad I read Saiyuki first. I definitely didn't expect it to end that way, so sad :l Short and sweet, 8/10.  |

I wasn't prepared to cry for about half the manga but wow. But Saiyuki should really be read first to better appreciate all the characters and story. Especially since it was released first... It's so nice to actually know Goku's backstory now and how he was in Heaven and then punished for his time there. I'm glad a separate series was devoted to it instead of more briefly covering it in the main Saiyuki series.  |
