Well, this episode wasn't as funny as the ones before. I'm a tad disappointed to be honest. Liked the Initial D stuff and the serious talk between Tsukasa and Kagami was something new, I liked that, too. But the rest was a bit weird. Even the Lucky Channel wasn't as hilarious as it's usually the case. Hope next ep wont be like this.

But the Karaoke ED was great, best part of this episode for me.

i didn't get this reference either, but i looked it up and apparently there's a shampoo in japan called timotei...konata was mimicking one of the old commercials for it...link below for anyone who actually cares...

i liked this episode...then again, i always like the "go to the beach" episodes in anime...wasn't as good as the previous episode, but it still feels the same to me...more random conversations with the occasional reference and me chuckling every once in a while...this episode also inspired me to watch initial d...it looks exciting...lol...

It was an alright episode. Still enjoyable. I loved the FMP and Pretty Cure references. I have nothing else to add. Next episode looks good. Looking forward to it.

I really enjoyed this episode. I thought it was pretty funny. The Initial D skit was hilarious as well as the references to FMP and Pretty Cure. And with Yui, I'm just like her, I really hate getting passed too. Although I don't know the reason why, just mentally I really hate getting passed. Also the part where Konata usually gets car sick but didn't because they were stopped most of the time instead of driving was pretty funny as well. I also liked the part where Konata is explaining that her inner tube and school swimsuit choice is to appease the people with "special needs," then Kagami points out that those people don't go to the beach ... BURN! Dammit, I'm with Konata I wanted to see that soap prank too :P. In addition, the ending karaoke was funny too with Tsukasa singing and Konata providing the background vocals while Kagami telling Konata to essentially STFU =D! Anyways, I'm looking forward to the next episode as always.

I feel like I missed out on a lot of references. At the very least I got the one on Initial D (even though I haven't actually seen it), but I know I missed the one about the shampoo (like errrr how am I supposed to know about that :P I couldn't even find that particular scene Konata mimiced in the link above :P ), then there's that mandom (errr?? :S ), the thing about running towards the ocean in a loincloth (though that can be just a random anime thing) and there was something censored during the "ghost"-story telling.........

......I feel like I'm watching Hayate no Gotoku all of a sudden o.O (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing :P )

^lmao...yeah...that commercial wasn't the one that konata mimicked...i don't get the reference either but i'm guessing that some other timotei commercials were different...what i find kinda funny is that when i watched that video, there was only 2 comments...now after ep 6 of lucky star aired, there's a bunch of comments about lucky star there...seems like a bunch of other people searched for timotei as well...heh...

I'm not sure why the overwhelming thought process for this episode was "alright" o.O I kinda loved it, actually. ^.^;; I'm the odd one out it seems, since I found the episode rather hilarious. Particularly Yui's interaction with the teacher, and Kagami's interactions with Konata. "Event flag!"

It was amusing, but I enjoyed the last episode quite a bit more. The Lucky Channel hasn't been nearly as funny lately though.

I have to agree. What will Akira do? Kill us in our sleep? Nah, she wouldn't do something as psycho like that. Unless she has Kaede from Shuffle with her. Yeah, i want a Kaede psycho moment reference.

On to the episode! Yeah, the last one was slightly better. But this one still amused me. Timotei!

There was a pretty cure reference? I think i know what it was...i don't watch that show. And i really need to start watching Initial D. I have Volume 1 of the DVD waiting for me. But i'm too busy with Lucky Star and Witch Hunter Robin. ^.^

Even though the episode was just alright, I completely fell in love with Tsukasa during all this. Somehow, the (first) part with the seashell reminded me of Haibane Renmei. I really don't know why =3

And then that Karaoke! gwaah <3

I think that is normal to be a little disappointed... episode 5 was sooo funny <3
But i liked this one too, tsukasa singing Valentine Kiss/with the seashell was lovely.


It's just me or the draw at the background looks like from The Lion King? LOL

heh, the beach scenes felt like something I've seen before honestly. The whole crazy driver teacher scene taken straight from Azumanga Daioh's Yukari, and the whole tube thing taken from Tenma from School Rumble. And I kept seeing familiar scenes here and there (Yui = Kurosawa-sensei, Nanako = Yukari-sensei) but oh well. Lovely obligatory swimsuit episode ^^.

oh and haha, three girls have hair long enough to cover their entire bodies. ^^


btw, did anyone get where teh ED song was from?

I thought it was kind of funny how Tsukasa held that shell up to her ear to hear the ocean when the ocean was right next to her. I laughed at the way it kind of defeated the purpose. The crab was an added bonus.
