| Monthly Card Making Competition (MCM's MCM Competition :D) If you are reading this, then you must be interested in this competition. Otherwise, why would you be here? Basically, we thought this would be a good opportunity to see all our members' skills and talents when put under tight deadlines and restrictions. So what is this competition about? Basically, the admins decide on a theme for the month (ex. Rain or Sun or Umbrella or Love or something) and then the members (even admins can participate!) have to create a card that encompasses that theme within their member card. There are two different categories: Custom and Preset. CUSTOM CATEGORY: The custom category is where we give you absolute freedom to create a member card of any kind as long as it encompasses the theme, as well as the guidelines. PRESET CATEGORY: Meanwhile, the preset category is where we provide two or three pictures that has the theme for the month on it, and you guys can edit it onto a member card and add all sorts of special effects onto it, as long as you use the original picture and follow all the guidelines. RULES: 1) The card absolutely has to have either Member Cards Mall or MCM on it. 2) The card cannot exceed 450 x 450 in size (otherwise, that wouldn't be a card anymore, now would it?) 3) The card needs to encompass the theme. This is obvious, but some merely skim over these rules. 4) The current month and the theme must be included in someway. For example: If the month is December, and the theme is snow, then somewhere on the card, the words December and Snow must be placed in a visible area. 5) Space for members' name on it (This is obvious, but you never know...) 6) The card cannot contain an excessive amount of ecchi (Keep it PG everyone) 7) The card template must be an original design, meaning you cannot copy other people's work and display it as your own. 8) You can only submit one template per category. That means one for preset and one for custom. No matter how much time and effort you spend, we will only accept your first one, so make sure that it is your absolute best! 9) Everyone can participate in each monthly competition. However, the top three from the category will not be allowed to compete the following two months (to keep everything fair and to give every member the chance to participate). One month later though, they may enter again in the category that they initially participated in. However, they are allowed to enter in the other category. (Ex. Someone wins in the Custom Category, the following month, they may only participate in Preset, but not custom.) 10) It is possible for a member to win both categories at one time, which would mean you would win the prizes allotted for both categories. 11) The winners will automatically get all of the winning cards from the different cardmakers, so when the time comes, they need not post a request in the thread. SPECIAL MAY RULES: 1) The theme for May is Reflection. Whether you want to find a picture with a ribbon, or recreate a reflection on your own, you are free to do so as long as you cover most of the rules. Additionally, if you want your entire card to encompass a reflection, you are free to do so as well. Lenient category today. If any of these rules are broken, the member will be notified and have a three day period to fix up the template, otherwise they will be disqualified from the competition. Things to Consider: When entering this competition, please note that if you are the winner, you will be host to the MCM Limited Edition Cards Shop. However, you are the one who has to deliver the template yourself. Monthly Schedule: The 3rd until the 10th: This is the time period where everyone's templates may be submitted. There will be a thread posted called Monthly Template Submissions, so you may submit your templates there. 9th until the 18th: Voting period. Out of all of the templates submitted, the members will pick their top three and assign them points accordingly. 19th until the end of the month: Card Distribution. The winner(s) will host the Limited Edition Cards Shop, and will have the chance to distribute their templates in exchange for MAL Coins (the limited edition templates will be sold at 2 MAL Coins per template, so depending on how many people buy the template, the winners of this competition may become very rich). THEME FOR APRIL: Ribbons HOWEVER! It is a specific type of ribbons that we want to see in the theme. So please, read the SPECIAL APRIL RULES for more details in the first post! Due to the lack of a Member Cards Competition in June, a total of four different themes will be used for the duration of July to August 2010. However, it is up to the member whether or not they choose to enter in all themes or just the ones that they desire to enter.
