MNfansubs

I believe they are the first official fansubbing group of Mongolia. Their subs are pretty good, but they do make typos and mistakes here and there.

And I think they better start subbing something other than shounen titles. Or else they're just going to end up as a bunch of narutards. What do you guys think?

Well, you don't necessarily need to watch their subs if you've already watched the shows they're subbing, but I think they're doing a good job for the people who don't know english or japanese.

Yeah, I felt that way too when I first heard of it.

It's been a while since I visited their site. Wonder what they're up to...

I've never tried their products. Nevertheless, i've seen somewhere that one of them (members/encoders or whoever) has (officially?) announced that translating and encoding one anime episode take up to half an hour for them. So i got a feeling that they probably translate word for word (to save their precious time?). English sub and Japanese audio don't always match perfectly. Anyway, waza waza arigatou! bas Amjilt!

I had the impression Mongolian subbers just got the script from other English translation groups and just translated that. I guess I was right. Doing English-Mongolian translation is easy enough but I'd love to see them tackle some raw Japanese stuff.

Frankly, they should get sponsored or donation. So that they can go serious and beyond!

Well, fan-subbing isn't exactly legal in terms of intellectual property and all that, (Remember that time when a tv station had to stop airing Naruto because the Japanese embassy told them to cut it out?) so getting sponsors is out of the question.

As for donations, it is plausible but then again, how much people use internet banking in Mongolia? A few. Not to mention most anime fans are underage. So unless they go around the city with shoeboxes, I don't see how they can make it work.

By the way, they have advertisements on their websites that they urge fans to click on them right? Personally, I think that's more than enough for them - since subbing isn't actually that hard and all..
