Should I drop this anime?

I'm sorry. I really couldn't enjoy this. I liked some of the characters but I thought that some of the characters even the main character was annoying. She's beautiful but she basically comes off as a goody-two-shoes type character who is very selfless and into reading.

It's sometimes bland, slow-paced, and typical slice of life anime with little plot. It's too simple and there's not enough development for the characters in this for me to care. Too much flashbacks, and pretty bad pacing. It doesn't have much appeal for anyone older than 13.

I'm at episode 22. It started off strong but then it just dropped the ball once Eren started to grow up. I was expecting some character change from her, but she didn't change much. Just stayed the happy, nice little kid she is. And her character is inconsistent.

Where you're at right now is arguably the worst part of Erin, and there's another time skip later on, but going off your reasons for not liking it so far, dropping it now is the suggested course of action.

I would suggest not dropping it as it begins to gradually pick up from where you are. Erin does receive a good amount of character development throughout the show, though it seems that you haven't reached the parts yet. I personally only began liking the series after ~episode 25 and prior to that, I didn't like it. The real show begins later on. However, by the end I realized how much of a journey the series was.

All in all, it's up to you, but I decided to stick around a bit longer and thoroughly enjoyed the series after the beginning bits were out of the way.

I am also very surprised at the high rating. (8.46/10 !!)
The image gets me interested in this series but I'm curious why this series has been so satisfactory.

It is painfully slow. Iirc, it got its groove on episode 34 or so.
Plus, flashback palooza.
