Basara but I haven't watched the anime I have only read the manga. I do not know how much content the anime adapts or how good it is but the manga was great (I read about 50/107 chapters). The anime is called legend of basara

Or try both? even though Legend of the Galactic Heroes is like Code Geass on a much larger and grander scale, I don't think there's the "Justice is served" feeling since its not so much a dictator but two sides at war that are both corrupt. Whereas Code Geass has one person trying to overthrow a dictator because he felt wronged by said dictator.
