Is there an Anime you had to really put some effort into getting through, that you had to force yourself to watch? And if so, for what reason?
Mrs. Landingham, what's next?

Aoi Hana - too slow of a story for me and it had terrible characters imo.

Ano Natsu - same problem, characters were horrible and I hated how their relationships went.

Makura no Danshi - I puked 3 times and cringed the whole way through.

Hm... _Summer. It was so boring! So long as I finish something, whatever.
Anne Happy. I hate these anime!
Bakuon!. Again, I hate this type of anime.
Kuma Miko. I hate these anime.
Sansha Sanyou. I really, really hate these anime. I've told you before.
Blue Drop. It just... wasn't interesting?
Dennou Coil. It also wasn't interesting.
I forced myself to watch half of Endride. I thought it'd get better.
Makura no Danshi. It's really stupid.
Chaos;Head. Also a boring anime.
Ookami Kakushi. Boring.
Brothers Conflict. Stupid MC.
Amnesia. Stupid MC.
Diabolik Lovers. Stupid MC.
That's all I can remember right now. Girls doing cute things does not equal a good anime. Unless it's Gakkou Gurashi! or something.

I pretty much force myself to watch any anime rated 6/10 or less. There are a lot. That's like half the anime I watch. Slice of life anime are boring and there are too many.

I forced myself to watch High School DxD, because of the Anime Watching Challenge.
And I also wanted to see if it was really the best ecchi anime ever made, as so many people claim.

Sadly, it doesn't even live up to its name...

Kore wa zombie desu ka? - ugh it was too slow and i disliked he characters design. But since a lot of people says that is awesome i forced myself to watch it.
...
Katekyo Hitman Reborn - it was a shitty show, like it forced too much the jokes and the main character was a coward. But my friend told me that later the series get better so I continued and about the chapter 25 it started to get very good. Now is one of my favourites.

Comet Lucifer. Called what would happen episode 6 because of how predictably dumb the characterisation was. I was blasted in the comments by fanboys. Left it for about 4 months and came back to not only find exactly what I thought would happen to happen, but also to get a kick of of how much worse it was and seeing the same people who blasted me in pain. I guess forcing myself for that one paid off in the end. XD

Bikini Warriors. I convinced myself to widen my anime horizons to get the most of the seasons and to better my tastes by watching this trashy fanservice anime. It was only like 2 minutes per episode but christ was it unbearable.

I dropped the following anime but may go back to finish them so these qualify somewhat.

Aldnoah.Zero. I dropped it due to is pretentious political conflicts despite it having a Gary Sue protagonist, ridiculously cartoonish anatagonists, and constant victimisation of the one somewhat layered character it had.

Btooom!. MC is a complete asshole and everybody else is hilariously despicable. The only thing this series had going for it was its art and animation.

Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru. The Mary Sue protagonist was getting on a my nerves somewhat but I could tolerate it. What I couldn't tolerate was episode 6 which introduced a moral conflict between this teenage girl and her young high school teacher whom had the dumbest, most asinine outlook on suicide. I thought for sure the episode was gearing to calling him out on his bullshit but it ended with the high school girl admiring him and that irritated the fck out of me. The characters were regular supporting so I was gonna be watching any more of that nonsense and hopped out. I'm half way through however so I'm thinking of just forcing myself to finish.

Too many to count. Including some episodes in HxH and FMAB (which are one my favorite anime) because of slower pacing with the arcs in the middle.

I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom:

"Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news.
Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people.
Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation.
There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime.
You should be watching Carole & Tuesday."

Tried to watch Yu Yu Hakusho, as I thought it could be fun, but couldn't get past episode 20 (which is a superhuman effort by my standards). Couldn't handle how poor the writing was and ultimately ruined the whole show for me.

I remember watching it as a kid and loving the heck out of it so I decided recently to rewatch it for old times nostalgia's sake (big mistake). It was awful, tedious and boring and I had to drop it around episode 20 as well.
OT: Any show that is so bad that I deem necessary to take the valiant duty of properly and thoroughly shitting on it.

Nah, probably the only reason why they didn't reserve a route and a porn scene for her is that Type-Moon would've been sued even nowadays. I'm not watching another Fate/Stay Night anime ever again because the cringe from what I watched was enough to kill me twice.

School Days- because i had to complete the 2015 anime challenge.

Akuma no Riddle- It isn't a bad anime, but it's a potential killer when it comes to characters.

Yumekui Merry- I watched only 2 episodes back in 2013, so I finish it a year later. This anime was actually the first non-mainstream anime I watched without completing.

Tamako Market- Didn't had that much interesting characters. But it was fun to watch.

Tokyo Ghoul Series- I'm not the biggest fan of Tokyo Ghoul but I had to watch both seasons since it was popular and still is. I might get caught up into the manga later.

Anime that I have to force myself to finish after I complete the 2016 challenge:

God Eater- It's been a year already since I haven't watched God Eater.
Dagashi Kashi- This anime feels like I'm watching a candy infomercial rather than an actual anime. The characters are pretty bland too.
Shirokuma Cafe- This anime is relaxing and easygoing, but I still have a long way to go.
