Sure Rem's devotion is amazing for you lot, but accept it that for a lot of people it is also a nuisance in some cases. Calling people stubborn because they don't switch to your ship is even more stubborn - why should someone switch ship cause some other character is more popular? if someone likes Emilia's traits more than Rem's then he/she should stick to the character he likes best, enforcing him/her to change it because you can't accept their choice is too egoistic. In the END it's Subaru who is choosing who he really likes not you, and it should stay that way. If every author watched only for "who people ship more and make them cannon" than all the stories would be awful, since other characters would have zero character development and story would go nowhere. |

They should've mixed between Subaru and Emilia moments and Subaru and Rem moments like when Rem said to Subaru that she can be his second wife and Subaru's confession to Rem if we going to have a polygamy ending. (I mean... nothing wrong for showing it if he will make Subaru end up with both anyway but why just Emilia?) | Rem, clearly. Emilia had promise at the start, but she's a boring character that does nothing and offers little to Subaru... At the end of episode 25 Emilia even starts listing everything bad about herself, and it really put's into perspective how little there is to her character. Rem on the other hand steals the show. She's perfect, and develops as a character. She does far more for Subaru than Emilia, while also being self-capable and interesting. |
| It's sad that most of Re:zero fans (probably) see Rem as perfect waifu material, judging the fanarts. I think she is amazing character, and I loved her even before watching episode 18. I saw people being sad for , but I think it was reasonable in the end and if she was crazy for him from the start, that wouldn't make sense. I don't hate Emilia, but I don't find her interesting at all, would be better if she is a supporting character. |

| I don't get why everyone loves Rem so much. Rem killed him twice and then went crazy and almost killed him again you don't just forget that. People forget the first ark where he bonded with Emilia. Then the second ark were he tried to build on that but got killed by Rem. Third ark Rem goes crazy and he bonds with Ram. Forth ark he makes a fool of himself and embarrasses Emilia. Based on her previous personality Rem should have ripped his head of at this point but for some reason doesn't. Fifth ark he repeatedly fails to reach and save Emilia and gets repeatedly killed. He finally says OK Rem you are good enough but the bitch declines. Sixth ark they kill a wale. Seventh ark he saves Emilia. So in conclusion Rem is a yandere bitch. I love Emilia. |

Your conclusion is flawed because Rem treated Subaru that way before she got to truly know Subaru and she had a reason for it. Real conclusion. Rem has trust issues and Subaru smelling like the witch compounded those issues into her taking an extreme action and killing him. But once she loves you she is perfect companion that would never harm you in any way even if you rejected and/or hurt her. Regardless, Rem killing Subaru was a low point of her character, but most people don't dwell on how she was during her first few appearances, but rather where she is by the end of her journey. And she's nothing but phenomenal after she turns a new leaf thanks to Subaru. |

| I think the fact that the poll is split is a good indication of how the writing is nudging the audience. Before episode 18, I would have said 100% Emilia, but Subaru's momentary weakness made me think that there is more between him and Rem. Plus Rem basically confessed her love to him in the plainest way possible for those who hadn't caught on before. The only problem with that scene is that this was Subaru at his most desperate moment where he wasn't thinking clearly, so I'm sure how strong his feelings for Rem actually are. I picked Satella because that's obviously who Subaru actually loves and whomever he loves is the best for him, but I also think that Emilia is really good for him. She has a big heart just like Subaru and she's an outsider much like he is. I love Rem as well, but she has been cold and misguided for a long time. It was only because of Subaru that she warmed up as a person. It sucks that she has to compete with Emilia, but as the great philosopher, Selena Gomez, once said: "the heart wants what it wants." As far as the writing is concerned, at this point in the anime, I think Emilia is clearly intended for Subaru. I can only speculate, but I think it's part of Satella's plan to help Emilia get elected, take Emilia as her body vessel, and have Subaru. But we'll have to wait and find out. According to what happened to Rem during the finale, there is more in store for her and maybe we'll see a Rem and Subaru romance ending after all. Or maybe everyone will die. Who knows. |
