2ch believes it has successfully divided anime otaku into two distinct types: http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/01/16/the-two-types-of-anime-otaku/ I will categorize it to 3 Types for precise poll survey. Type A: A person who simply enjoys “anime.” Evaluates anime based on direction, voice acting, art, etc. Hates shallow anime with no real content. Story emphasis >>Greater Than>> Moe anime. A recent example would Higashi no Eden. Fans of anime like Lain or Ghost in the Shell would probably be this kind. Type B: A person who simply enjoys “characters.” Will watch an anime if it includes cute or beautiful characters. Doesn’t care if story is awful, as long as the characters are of interest. Loves moe elements. Doesn’t like complex anime. The otaku the media picks up on are usually this kind. Doesn’t know that much about anime and so is often criticised as by Type A otaku. However, they make much better customers than the more discerning Type A otaku. Recently there has been a huge increase in anime targeted at Type B otaku. People who like K-ON!, Queen’s Blade, Strike Witches and so on would be in this class. Type AB Combination of A and B. So which type are you? As for me I'm Absolutely Type A, I don't really like the an anime that has too much conversation like Lucky Star and Haruhi, but I like K-ON for some reason maybe because of it's music, and also for interesting characters as well. I will still vote for A since so far K-ON is the only anime that I like which is on category B. Tagalog is allowed since this is a tagalog forum. mukhang walang gustong bumoto ng B a.. karamihan ng talagang B, binoboto AB.. although AB rin ang binoboto ko, makikita naman sa favorites ko na for Type A mga favorite kong anime pero Type B mga favorite kong characters.. Whenever i watch an anime, i both look on a Type A and a Type B perspective.. if it is able to satisfy either of those two sides, it's ok to me.. i could just call myself type-moon.. that way, i won't sacrifice good plot nor quality girls.. hahaha.. AB ako XP I love a great story, I love the characters Mine is kind of a juggle since my anime preference is somewhat varying on my mood... I love plotless anime's since I find them soothing (ARIA, Minami-ke, etc...) I love Umineko and Higurashi for the plot, the mystery and also the characters XD      |

meron akong mga dvd ng azumanga daioh(ito lang ang english dub sa lahat ng anime DVD ko), wind a breath of heart, lamune, school rumble, girls high, ichigo 100, fortune arterial, amagami ss, sasameki koto, kono aozora ni yakusoku o, kanamemo, clannad, amaenaideyo,final approach, w wish, kimikiss,so type B otaku ako |

Type A, pero I love for Type B anime every once in a while for a breath of fresh ero... I mean air.  Only hope can give rise to the emotion we call despair. But it is difficult for man to live completely without hope. In other words, man has no choice but to live with despair as his companion. |

AB? I dunno... I love very complex stories and abstract themes BUT it would be a fail if it has bland characters and poor character development... wow.. and I love both Lain AND Strike Witches o v o XDDD hi people~ |
