| This was beyong epic. The CGI was better than expected, even though it was still bad, but not as terrible as some people make it out to be. The OST alone was 10/10, I liked pretty much everthing about this episode. The nightmare scene was good shit (I think I'm missing something. A lot of characters I don't know). This episode made me want to read the manga. |

| Lets be honest though, that opening was SICK. I initially did not like the track when I heard it, but when I saw the actual opening it was a highlight of that episode. They basically got all the best moments of the golden age arc and put them in there, fitting the high and lows of the song perfectly. |

| I actually didn't watch first episode yet. But I have to comment this unexplainable phenomena on MAL that automatically every anime done in 3D CG has to be considered bad. Even though I will have to agree that this CGI could be MUCH MUCH better, it is not that horrible that people would have to write reviews giving bad scores (1,2,3) when they only watched ONE episode..... I don't understand that. I am also for "traditionaly" 2D animated Berserk by some eminent studio.... But, we didn't get that, so we should actually wait a couple of more episodes to see what will happen and then to make salty rants. And also, I saw PVs and their choosing of FPS is pretty discutable, but other than that and couple of other things CGI as a hole isn't AWFUL and HORRIBLE. This studio that is doing Berserk (2016) is pretty unfamiliar to me and probably to thousands and thousand of people. So, what we could've expected from this series after all? Let's just hope that sometime we will get a proper adaptation of that amazing manga and that our hearts will be fullfiled. |

| Oh and although Puck was on point visually, I disliked his voice. In my mind he sounded normally much more like a boy (almost how Isidro would sound) rather than like that. |
| Another case of 'if you can get through Kingdom S1, this is a breeze'. But even then, this was pretty bad. The CG showed several good glimpses, but the overall cinematography was jarring, like they tried too hard to implement intense, in-your-face angles. Not even going to mention the presentation of the story and Guts' characterization. |

| While I agree that the animation was quite subpar to say the least, I think people are overexagerating a bit when it comes to the adaptation. While it could have been done much, much better, they needed to introduce Puck somehow since he wasn't present in the first adaptation or the movies, and doing the first half of the Black Swordsman makes sense. I would have loved to have the second part too, they probably wanted to jump straight to conviction arc to fit the whole thing the the number of episodes that they were given. It's not a perfect adaptation by any means, it's just that it's not as bad as some are making it to be when talking in context. |

| It looks very Sidonia, in fact exactly the same, when it comes to close up animations in discussions, etc. I dislike that because although it worked for Sidonia, it fcks up Berserk. However on the other hand, there are also gorgeous parts to this anime. That encounter with the little girl was as gore as Id want it to be remembering the manga. Guts kills that little girl and its not censored!!!! YES (I dont mean it in a psycho way lol). Music is divine and the best part of the episode IMO. Its just those Sidonia 3D character parts that make me feel like crap. The fact that they often switch between gorgeous hand drawn Guts to ugly 3D guts is annoying as hell. |

It's not as long as you think. Despite its age, it's shorter than most manga, and, fair warning, once you get into it, it's going to be hard to stop. My first time, I read volumes 5-14 in one afternoon sitting. And later on, during yard sales and what not, I read 14-26 over the course of a week or two. |
