| In my past relationships I've always dated older, though I might have to go older than that. Even at this age people are still quite immature. |

| I think since a lot of girls are submissive they usually like older guys. Because older guys are more experienced and better in controlling them. Even if they aren't submissive most girls prefer at least a guy that is same age or 1-2 years older. But I think since men are already superior to women it should be still easy for a guy that is a lot younger to dominate a girl - so it should also be okay for guys to be older. (Like 14 years old boy with a 21 years old girl would be okay.) But most guys don't like it and I can understand it. We also want younger girls because they are sexier. Sexy, fresh and young body. The only negative side effect: Guys already have lower life expectancy. So they will die earlier and if both stay together for a long time ... at the end the female will still be a lot of years by herself without a guy (too old to get a new guy). I think it is recommended for females to still work (not focusing on getting kids or family) - so they will have a lot of money and can at least be interesting for money if they are old so they can get some callboys. But that only is my personal opinion. Of course it can be different for others. But there already are feminists and they also want that females focus on work and career - so most should agree to this progressive view I have. |

| Age doesn't matter all that much once you get out of your teens. As long as it's legal (above 16 here, though I would have reservations about dating someone still in high school) and they aren't some grandpa or granny, then I don't see an issue. Personally I would prefer someone a few years younger. So at 23, I would say maybe 18-21? But again, that is preference, not a requirement. |

This things seem more big to teenagers because they go to school and college etc and a few years older is like a different order or something. When you grow up it's kind of meaningless unless we talk about huge differences where the problems is more like other gossiping about how one of the two is older enough to be a parent of the other etc. When i was 23 i dated a 41 year old woman. She was awesome actually. Almost 20 years of difference but it was a good fun time with less trouble than dating girls at my age at the time. She knew what she wanted and she wasn't beating around the bush so it was good not to have a person that isn't soul-searching anymore and moody as a person trying to understand it's own self. |

| Both of my exes were younger than me, but I don't think I have a specific age preference. Hell, my second ex was only about a week younger. Since I'm nineteen, I find it to be risky to date someone even two years older or younger than me. I'll open up my options more when I'm in my mid twenties or so, but nineteen, to me, is one of those ages where you're at a very particular transition period between adolescence and young adulthood, and people change very rapidly. There's also the fact that I look really young, so dating someone older than me would make me feel like jailbait. And if I date someone younger than me, I'd feel like I'd be *taking* jailbait. |

| The odds of you dating someone the exact same age as you is pretty much impossible, when you think about it. Anyway, to me it's not about age but stage of life, I mostly don't care what a person's exact number is if they are basically around that same stage of life. I've found people who are like 22 who are ready to have children and are falling apart physically (balding, etc), they feel that they will never be more desirable than then and are desperate to secure a partner, and I've found people who are 26 who have never even considered the idea of a longer term relationship, usually because they are possibly just as attractive/interesting (maybe even moreso) than when they were 22. I think some particular personalities will go as high as like 31/32 before even feeling the desire to have a partner. Anyway, my parents have a 5 year gap and it's never mattered, so yeah, that's my summary of feelings. Because there are such strong differences, I mostly don't really look to age as a number, but I don't ignore where a person is at mentally and where they seem to be wanting to go overall. |

| My current boyfriend is one year younger which doesn't have a real impact. My first boyfriend though was 7years older than me. I was in high school and he was a senior university student. He cared about the sexual aspects of our relationship way more than I did (and probably than I do now), called me immature but had his parents pay for most of his stuff and in the end he cheated on me. We dated for a year but it was always weird. I don't think it had much to do with our age differences but more to do with what we wanted in life. Even if we were close in age that relationship would never work. |

| I only date people born on the exact same day as me. In all seriousness I'll go either way, it doesn't matter. I don't grill people about their age when I first meet them anyway? Anyway atm I'm probably around 3 years either direction, but it'll probably change as I get older and there is less of a difference per year in people when they are 50 vs 20. |
| I've done both sides of it. I dated a girl who was a couple years older and couple years younger than me. I would prob say my dating preference would be somoene younger because I didn't really enjoy my experience of some older than me. That being said, it could've just been my experience. |
