Hey everyone. I'm relatively new to anime, but have been on sort of a binge as of late, and loving it. I have watched some of the critically acclaimed and top rated shows, as well as some perhaps lesser known, and sort of have an idea of what I'm most into.

My favorites so far have been Steins Gate (who wouldn't love this masterpiece), Welcome to the NHK, and Darker Than Black. Also really loved Another and Shiki (I've listed the rest of anime I completed on my profile). As you can see I'm more into the darker toned, more maturely themed anime, particularly ones that will have you thinking about them long after you're done watching. So any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm open to check out anything - as I've learned that with anime, you can't judge a book by its cover - so feel free to throw out some hidden gems. But ultimately, I'm looking for shows that are (relatively) more grounded in reality, psychological in nature, and aren't targeted to younger audiences. Additionally, I am only looking for shows that are dubbed (and hopefully dubbed well), as I'm just not into subtitles.

Thanks guys!

Based on your preferences, there are some animes I would like to suggest-

Zankyou no Terror
Full Metal Alchemist
FMAB
Code Geass
Durarara

these are all I can remember now. AFAIK they are all dubbed (well) so u can check them out. U should also try Shingeki no Kyojin...its a gem. I will post more animes in ur profile later. just need to make a list :P

Much appreciated! I actually added ZnT to my "Plan to Watch" list yesterday, it looks awesome. I tried FMA, it was alright, but I'm putting it on the backburner for now. As for Code Geass, I just can't get in to the whole mecha thing.

Even thought this isn't like what you listed above, I enjoyed it and suggest it to everyone so you might like this comedy Hetalia. :3

Hello and welcome to MAL, enjoy your stay.

As for recommendations, hmm I'm open to any anime, but haven't really put that much weight on serious anime, but perhaps you should give Subete ga F ni Naru a try. Not sure if the title is like that, but close to it.

I am new here as well!

Based on your preferences I would recommend Hell Girl. I saw your 'Plan to Watch' list and I HIGHLY recommend Paranormal Agent and Death Parade. All three have dark tones and are dubbed, but each series is truly unique from one another.

Hello and welcome to MAL! It's great that you're enjoying anime so much :D!

As for recommendations for you I think Mushishi is a cool anime. It's very atmospheric. A hidden gem is Now and Then Here and There, which I think is a marvellous anime that made me really think about it a lot after watching it. I thought it was very mature and great meaning behind it. It's very underrated and it would be awesome if more people saw it :).

I'm watching Welcome to the NHK at the moment and I agree with you that it's a very good anime! I love how grounded in reality it is.
