Fast episode really great pace in this one, though the whole episode was rather dramatic with his father and that girl, hmm I do hope we'll see that girl once more!

Lets see what's next!

Well that was the whole point. He wanted her to dislike him so that he could cut things off with her easier. I bet he didn't even think she liked him like that either. Tough shit for Yamazaki. The fact that he was able to continue on with it after she basically confessed to him was crazy. Proves just how tough the guy is. It's really too bad he has to go through this shit.

Yamazaki is a great character and I loved his idea of "yolo it" with his eroge collection, but I don't like the way he handled Nanako's response and confession. It's going to be awkward if their eroge is a hit and he can stay after all, then he just pretty much missed his once in a lifetime opportunity with Nanako :x.

Wow, that was a great episode. So many feels for Yamazaki. It must've been real tough to accept that his lifestyle had to totally change for his family. That part with Nanako was really good, too. Cool guy, Yamazaki.

Heh Yamazaki knows better than to think that things would work out. After all, that's all he's seen in his life so far. Why wouldn't he think that it would end up with him going back to the farm. I probably would have felt the same way but he was man enough to go through with it.

yamazaki just proved how badass he is. Even though deep down inside he cared for her and I bet he was happy to hear she would accept him even with all the porn stuff he still broke it off.He knew it wouldint work and their lives were going down two different paths. From what I heard what happened in the manga the anime did a much much better job in this situation. So congrats yamazaki you may spazy sometimes but your an otaku hero.

This episode was so depressing. There was this cold winter mood.

Satou reflexion on life was really depression. Yeah, life is absurd.

So Yamazaki will leave. What he did to Nanako was just... This is the kind of cringe I can't stand. It would have been less cringe if she would just have been disgust and leave, but to admit her feeling and him just break them. He was really a douche on that one. Yamazaki, a man that you must never let him drink xD

Finally an episode that just felt right.
I especially liked the thoughts about value of human life. I have to say I agree when they put it like that.
A life of the single person means nothing when you compare it to the eternity of the universe indeed but it can mean everything to the people close to that person.
I just wished they mentioned it in this episode, cause the way they left it felt a bit too depressing.
Also Yamazaki knew he was never going to see her in a long time so he decided to do what he had done, i think he did the right thing.
The only problem was he never suspected the girl might react like that, after which he knew there was no way for them to ever form a relationship which would be even more painful not only for him but for the girl as well, so he decided to go trough with it.
I really admire him for doing that.
But on the other hand the game can still prove successful, can't wait to see it.

Overall this was a great episode.

I think you guys are missing the whole fucking POINT. He did that shit because he CAN'T see her anymore. You think he can inherit that farm and marry any bitch out there? nah bro

Either way, you guys are acting like they're soulmates or something. I really doubt he'd have the time to come out and see some COLLEGE GIRLFRIEND when he's supposed to be running the farm. Hell, I'm not even sure if they were even in a relationship anymore. I can't remember. If they weren't, that makes the fact that you guys can't understand why he did what he did even more ridiculous.

He's not an idiot. Yamazaki is a badass. He did that shit for a REASON.

This.
This but he could have done it in a far better suitable way....

Yeah, I'm of the opinion he did the smart thing. Yamazaki knew he wasn't even her first choice by that point. Satou knew this as well after overhearing the girls gossip the one episode. Women sometimes like to keep guys like Yamazaki as their emergency support. I got the feeling that's all that their so called relationship ever was.

I guess for Yamasaki he knew it had to come to an end. So he'd take one chance to be a badass and push her buttons on purpose. It was his way of breaking free of any lingering doubts.

+1 = 5

Yamazaki became my favourite NHK character after his 'otaku reveal' stunt. An average man, such as Satou, would've given into his desires and fucked a girl such as Nanako silly if - in a room with tentacle rape on a monitor - she continued to express her affections openly. But Yamazaki was smart enough to know that, had he gone with the flow, it would've only caused more misery further down the line. It isn't as if a new relationship can survive long-distance - especially when Yamazaki was moving to the country and his girl loved the city life.

Satou wasn't able to laugh because the situation wasn't funny in the least. Had Nanako gone apeshit the moment she saw Yamazaki's nerdy smut collection, it would've been funny... but once she was willing to go out with him, in spite of his weirdness, it became painful.

Also, you guys complaining about Yamazaki's handling of the situation in the anime should take note of what happened in the manga: they had sex and, when Yamazaki was leaving at the train station, he saw Nanako kissing another girl; her declaring herself to be a lesbian (I think, anyway). Yeah...

Wait what. I just finished reading this part in the manga, it happened exactly the same way as in the anime... or maybe I am missing something.

mmmm STILL it is the easy way out even if it is with good intentions(the road to hell is pavet with good intentions), to just be straight en honest(and demanding it back by confronting her with his own points shall we say )is how you show you got BRASS BALLS because I rather be sad for the right reasons then sad for the wrong reasons and btw IF the game works out he will stay, doesn´t that undermine his own reasoning for reacthing that way ? this is by the way also only my opinion nothing more :) anyways srry in advance for any grammer faults it has been a while typing engris hahah

Yamazaki is a real man..
I understand the hardship and obligation of a child has when born into a farming family from other anime and manga.
It's not so simple to just fight for your own future like ordinary people.
Still Nanako is damn pretty.. this is such a bummer.

It took all the courage he had to leave the one girl he liked. Yamazaki decides to cut their friendship and avoid any lingering feelings with her. Although Yamazaki was a bit surprised that Nanako said she liked him. Pretty sad ending for Yamazaki, his life is over, and he's forced to take over the farm.

It was winter and Misaki was still wearing that sorta baseball jersey top thing that she always wears. Wouldn't she be cold? I hope her always wearing the same outfit (except for the pink dress when she met Satou's mum) has some story significance, or it's just lazy animation.

Yamazaki was just trying make clear that Nanako won't be sad, because he is gone. He is trying to play the bad, so noone get hurt more than he means to in the end. Still breaking relationships always leave scars, either physical or psychological...

Damn... that was equal parts hilarious and depressing...

Yamazaki is a real bro, to be honest. He doesn't HAVE to return home and take over the family ranch just because his father can't tend to it. That's not his problem, and his family would find a way to make do - even if it meant selling the ranch. He's doing it because, ultimately, his family is more important.

People in this thread are heavily underestimating him.

Dang, that episode really made me feel for Yamazaki ... having his future planned out like that by all his relatives >_< No wonder he tried to escape it all ... haha, getting drunk and eating pizza to fuel creativitiy?! I like it :P I honestly didn't even remember Nanako existed ... dang, what a way to go D: She was fine with his initial confession, only to have him press her and ask if she was crazy ... ouch >_< Well, hopefully they can focus on the game and have it do well! Seems like Yamazaki's really counting on it. Pretty tough to have his family count on him like that after his father collapsed ... dang, is that turning out to be a theme or what? :S

Whoa, Yamazaki, he actually did something like that... I can't help but feel sorry for him due to the circumstances he's under, and what he had to do. My opinion of him changed entirely...!

A part of me's still hoping that they'll reconcile or get together in some way, but that seems unlikely at this point.
