So, Battler and his disbelief of magic

I'm up to episode 9 now, but what the hell is this? Battler has seen his friends come back to life only to dissolve after he states that he will not believe in magic. Then he gets transported into a new world where time can stop at any moment, and he's acting almost like a ghost.

So why the heck does he not believe in magic after all that?

You lost the game dude.

Its about the murders and explaining them. He won't believe the solution is magic. His reasons for this I believe change or become apparent throughout the story so i don't want to say to much.

I think at this point, you could say part of it is simply just out of pure spite as well.

Battler only clings to common sense here.

Magic of this world is a carefully constructed lie. Battler of episodes 1 to 4 of VN will not believe in something he clearly knows is a lie.

Battler of episode 8 makes up a big lie for Ange to make her remember this family as not complete monsters.
