| I've been both. In high school I was really shitty. I cheated on every girl I dated except two. I never had a good reason. When I started cheating it wasn't my intention to get caught and lose the relationship. Not the first time. But I jumped into relationships fast and I got bored or realized I didn't like her enough to date her seriously. I hated breaking up with them so I'd cheat so they'd break up with me instead. I felt guilty at first but as time went on I got used to it. I didn't care. I was more about sex anyway. I've been cheated on a couple times. First time was the only time I cared. My first girlfriend was my first love. Of any the girls I dated she was the only one I said that to and meant it. We started dating at 12 and spent a few years together. We had a close knit group of friends but two people were too close. My girlfriend and my best friend. We spent summers hanging out at the river with everyone. I was grounded and couldn't go. I felt uneasy about her going alone with him. She told me don't worry. Later that night she called me crying and I knew before she said anything what she did. We broke up that night. I don't think it's right. I just became numb to it all as a teen. I justified my actions back then but now I wouldn't even bother. I'm not the same guy I was in high school. If I date a girl now I make sure I actually like her. I haven't cheated on anyone in over four years. It just takes changing your habits and the way you think. |
