And if so, who are your favorite/s?

I definitely do(I even go out of my way to search for them) and the cream of the crop of my favorite(along the many of my favorites) are this 3:

Daniela Andrade - Tbh, I fell in love with her voice ever since I first tried her stuff 3 years ago... I'm still in love with it.

Hannah Trigwell- Well, her voice is great though it lacks the impact that the one I listed above have.

Tyler Ward- Aside from having a good voice, he also produces creative covers.

Some Honorable mentions would Christina Grimmie, Sam Tsui, Alex G, Alex Goot, Boyce Avenue, Kina Grannis, Pentatonix and many more I'm too lazy to list...

Not really as far as lyrivs, because I usually just prefer the original artist. I like to listen to artist that remix a song into 8-bit or something like that though.

Stuff like this.

I also really like GltichxCity which remixes Pokemon music.

and of course Smotoh McGroove

What's a youtube "cover artist?" How does one listen to a cover art? I assume it's a drawing for the cover of a magazine or a cd or a drawn image shown to represent a youtube video?

Why yes, I do. VGM cover musicians for the most part, but in any case, my Top 3 is, in no particular order:

Smooth McGroove

They are musicians who work with existing music! Isn't that great?
What the phrase refers to is how they take the melodies and harmonies of a song, and cover them with their own instrumental performance.

On YouTube, the words "cover," "remix," "(re-)arrangement" and "remaster" are often used to mean the same thing, but please don't let that confuse you.

Unless I need a piano cover when I want to play a song, the only covers I watch are anime and videogames ones.

I love Animenz and TheIshter piano covers.
And I like AmaLee vocal covers.
And well, it is not exactly a cover channel, but I'm in love with The Synthetic Orchestra. That guy is a genious.

Only anime song covers.

A few people would be:
Akano:

Pellek

Roan Lee

I haven't listened to any of AmaLee's stuff in a while, sadly, I lost interest in a lot of her covers when she turns them into lullaby versions.

I was literally just about to create this very topic!

I am listening to https://youtu.be/PgzuOXKd6Sg right now. So freaking good...I loved AnoHana so much..

Another really good one is https://youtu.be/QQUiBgURdDM although it seems like less people would be familiar with this song. The cover artists are the real stars though.

Sorry I do not know how to create fancy links. Still new to forums.

A cover artist is an artist that isn't original in terms of creating their own music and I don't mean to put that in a bad way. They basically sing their own versions of previously or commercially released songs but it's still the same lyrics 99% of the time. You could say they "re-sing" music.

To add a YouTube video in your post, you just need to use the following BBcode:
[yt]whatever goes after the "v=" in the YouTube web address[/yt]

In your case:
[yt]PgzuOXKd6Sg&feature=youtu.be[/yt]

OT: I don't really listen to cover artists and I prefer listening to original ones. But I do like AmaLee's channel, she's really good imo. And the Penatonix is actually an excellent band. They've even released some of their own original music.

Goose house? They're an actual professional band, so some of their own songs are mixed in there as well. I'm not familiar with the vast majority of songs they cover (all Japanese, afaik), but they sound fantastic.

Yep, I listen to YT covers fairly often. There's various cover artists I like (Smooth McGroove, Pentatonix, AmaLee, Lizz, Raon Lee, Pellek, LittleJayneyCakes, PaperBlossem, StrawbellyCake, ect, ect), but these are the people I listen to most often:

I also like listening to instrumentals covers by people like Igor Presnyakov, Taylor Davis, Amit Hayun, FamilyJewels7X, 331Erock, & a few others, too.

Normally I don't, but there is one group on youtube which makes FANTASTIC covers of musical numbers in Polish. They also covered a lot of Disney songs.

I'll link my personal favourite, cover of the Phantom of the opera (Nightwish)

In my opinion - phenomenal.

Oh maybe, maybe it's the clothes we wear
The tasteless bracelets and the dye in our hair
Or maybe, maybe it's our nowhere towns or our nothing places

Just trash, me and you

I do, I love watching talented people playing the songs I love.
However, when it comes to us, I like to do original songs more than covers, but in our short experience on youtube I've seen that people tend to watch covers more than original songs.

As much as I love playing covers, I'm gonna stick to our own songs for now, but I know we would be more successful playing covers exclusively.
"Ave Maria", a song inspired by ATTACK ON TITAN:

I love JonTron's cover of Firework, if that counts. To be honest, his version is far, far better than Katey Perry's (I don't think I did, but did I spell that correct?) monotonous version. She sounded like she was just reading the lyrics off a book.
