| I've successfully converted my younger cousin, my sister, my sisters boyfriend, and a friend, and my girlfriend. These people were people that have never seen anime, or have never had any interest in anime or animated series in general. But I gauged them on what they enjoy as far live action series, books, movies etc etc and I carefully picked a series I felt they would enjoy despite their bias. It's like that first series they ever watch will either thrust them into Anime fandom or doom them forever into thinking anime is strictly for weirdos. |

| @21, well done that's a lot of converts haha ! i tried to get my bf into it and im still trying haha, hes very sweet tho he pays attention to the shows i like, he once went into a comic book shop and asked if they had any "Space Cowboy Bebop" stuff he got a lil mixed up with space dandy and cowboy bebop haha ! its so strange that ppl are quite turned off to the idea of watching anime if they dont already watch it, i always say theres something for everyone when i suggest a show to someone who doesnt watch themselves but its really tricky to get people into it ! Which shows did u suggest to ur converts ? |

| Only if someone asks me for anime recommendations. I wouldn't say I've converted them but more like introduced them into anime and then they can do whatever they want from there (drop it, still be a casual fan or a fan). I don't want to push anyone into something they aren't interested into. |

| Haven't really tried converting them. Though I have recommended some animes I like to people based on their preferences. My mom, on the other hand, was a surprise. We were simply marathoning one piece a long time ago and she thought of giving it a try and from there on, she's open to animes. She got addicted to One Piece, Rurouni Kenshin and HxH. My friends think my mom is cool |

| None, My sister is into anime but me and her got into it at pretty much the same time without really even watching it together. Dad was bored one day so he tried out Attack on Titan on Netflix however they only had the sub which he didn't like, also he didn't see what was so great about the show and I agree with him, I like that show but I find it overrated. He rented Ghost in the Shell once and he fell asleep during it but he often falls asleep watching at that time of the week because it was a friday afternoon and he had worked all week. My sister started watching Death Note with him he finds it okay. My dad and uncle grew up with Speed Racer though and they still like it. My mom on the other hand hasn't really watched an anime that she loves, she's watched Whispers of the Heart and The Cat Returns with my sister and she found them okay as she likes cats and Whispers of the Heart was very slice of life so there wasn't cray stuff going on. My Mom grew up with Speed Racer and Astro Boy though so she likes those, she also likes Pokemon up to there point where Misty left as she would often watch it with me and my sister when we where young. My sister showed my grandma some AMV she made once and my grandma though it was weird. So I haven't successfully converted anybody though at least my parents realize that's not all kids stuff and not all hentai. |

| None, some of my friends watched FMA:B with me and some episodes of Fate and I'll give some recommendations of they seem interested but I don't really force it or anything. Though my roommates always found it hilarious when they'd hear me laughing myself to death in my room or when I'd come out an emotional wreck after a series. |

| i think just one, my little sister. made her watch everything with me when she was young cuz i hated watching stupid barbie cartoons or whatever she watched,so i took her and showed her advanced "cartoons" starting with Digimon then Yugioh/DBZ/Bleach/Fairy Tail, after she turned like 12 she preferred the thriller/gory animes and wanted to watch of her own choices, we dont watch together , but yeah she's still an anime fan , i can tell when she squeels in her room watching Nanatsu no Tazai. Occasionally we recommend eachother stuff to watch, we really prefer different genres though, so most of the time we decline most recommendations. most of my good friends were already casual anime watchers ,i didnt have to "convert" them, and luckily i married someone who loves the same animes i do <3 Anime brings ppl together <3 |

I've also noticed there are a lot more people that are familiar with anime than I originally thougt. There was at least 2-3 people who have watched at least some anime in a lot of my classes in highschool. |

| Zero I got my brother to watch Baccano and SnK. He has also watched OPM and a bunch of Ghibli movies by his own volition, but he's still not much of a fan of anime. The moment some pink haired schoolgirl with a high pitched voice turns up he's like "nope, I'm out" I managed to convince a friend of mine who only watched One Piece to start watching other stuff, unfortunately he still only watches Shounens and is very up front about it. All he wants is a tenacious underdog character who gradually progresses to become the strongest of them all through pure willpower and perhaps a little help from their friends. As you can imagine he's really digging Boku no Hero. |

| Are we talking about reccing one or two anime or actually turning them into people who end up watching a lot of anime on their own in their free time? A lot for the former, and my best friend for the latter. It's just that a lot of people I recced anime to were already familiar with the medium to some degree. We have a shitton of One Piece fans here for example and if I recced some of them stuff that they liked I still wouldn't call it 'converting'. |

| I've tried getting my family to watch anime. 2 of my brothers have seen one show but wont watch any more, and everyone else doesn't want to. I dont try and get my friends into anime because it's too annoying discussing it with idiots who ant get past 'but cartoons are for kids'. not to mention every time anime is mentioned in a conversation they immediately think of tentacle hentai. |
