Both of them are based on the same concept, fast paced shooter.
I have played only Paladins, and also, I think Overwatch if far ahead and Paladins still has a long way till it can be released.
Your opinions?

I have 150 hours in Overwatch and just 3 hours in Paladins so I'm sure my opinion is heavily biased. But Overwatch blows Paladins out of the water.

It's funny how people will still probably pick Paladins over Battleborn.

It's sad that no one picked Paladins. But then again, Overwatch is clearly the better one.

One is a meme game shilled by Blizzdrones which has only updated with a new map and a new hero in the four months it has been released and has already lost most of the hype it had surrounding it because of how shallow it was.

The other is just plain mediocre, but is still a mediocrity that I can play for free, unlike the former. Needs more hot girls though.

Basically, they're both bad, but one has good porn and the other you don't have to pay if want a quick match once in a while.

They're both alright. Paladins does it's thing and Overwatch does it's thing. Overwatch definitely had more following though because of the Blizzard tag on it.

I've played both.
Based on the companies and rate of development, you can guesstimate what the they will look like in 2 years or so.

Blizzard - Gaming Giant
If you know Blizzard, you know that they don't alter what works.
- The undisputed king of hero shooters unless it gets overtaken by something else new or Paladins eventually becomes more appealing.
- In 2 years, Overwatch will probably get 3-4 additional characters or so, bringing the roster to around 25.
- Overwatch is already in a highly polished state, so there won't be many mechanical or visual changes.
- Maybe a few more maps.
- High quality cosmetic options, probably locked in RNG lootcrates.

Hi-Rez - Independent Studio
Hi-Rez will make several changes every few weeks. Paladins a few months prior won't be the same game a few months later.
- Paladins has already somehow succeeded in a genre that Battleborn tried and failed to break into.
- 2 years later, it will probably have a roster of over 50 characters, assuming they set up a Smite-like workflow.
- If Paladins follows in the footsteps of Hi-Rez previous games, Paladins will also receive a massive visual overhaul within 2 years.
- Hi-Rez will develop several different game modes to test the waters and gauge feedback.
- Several cosmetic releases, some high quality ones in RNG chests, and most likely the introduction of emotes.

Conclusion:
Overwatch - What you see is what you get.
Paladins - Highly unstable, but will go through many changes and continue to improve.

I am currently playing both games. I prefer both to be honest. Paladins sure does need some more polishing though (thus they are in beta).

Played both. Overwatch ~40h, Paladins~5h. Overwatch is a lot better, but it's still mediocre game.

I want an option to vote Battleborn even if I'm the only one to vote for it. Tried paladins and Paragon as well lately btw, it can be interesting for a short while, sure, and I'll keep testing them for a while as such, but it's just not as fun nor as deep as BB.

I really feel sorry for Battleborn...The released the game at the worst possible time a publisher can. It got buried so fast that hardly anyone speaks of it.

Well OW's release date and its OB date and so on were clearly decided to generate this so it's not like it's innocent. Although a very bad advertising and a few others things didn't help and led to an even earlier burial. Too bad.

And peoples also don't realize how much content update BB got since release. counting the patch in 9 days, there's already 3 new heroes, 6 new pvp maps (3 maps for already existing pvp mode and 3 for a new pvp mode), 1 new pve maps (part of the season pass for that one, so only content not directly free in the list ) , lots of balance, game mechanism changes, queue changes, and so on.
Compare that to OW with one single map and one hero in around the same amount of time, that's just not the same level at all of follow up from the two companies.

One is a good game with a sizable amount of content (30 hours main game and around 50-60+ with all DLC included), characters are more than just pathetic cliches or trophes and their gimmicks get more complex the more you level up, good OST, varied maps and environments and lots of replayability with a simple but engaging storyline.

The other is a shallow Hero-based shooter like TF2 that has overall pretty much nothing in terms of content and a low amount of heroes with one-dimensional characters, poor hitboxes and not a single outstanding location or theme in terms of music that only relies on it's absurds amounts of shilling/advertising because of Blizzard's name and it's pretty graphics which has been an absolute disaster in terms of updating it's own game by adding more content to it.

Go back with your shilling to the Overwatch thread if you want, blizzdrone.

They probably didn't update Overwatch that often because they wanted to focus on the Legion expansion for Wow instead. Not defending it or anything, that's a pretty bad support from the company to people who have paid for the game, but that could be it.

Well GBX is developping borderlands 3 as well, and BB didn't sell well so it's commercially not a priority for them. Comapred to that OW is a true commercial success. Yet, look at who really support its game with new content. No matter the reason, that's sad, especially since there was definitely enough players to have both game live healthily >_<.

ROFL

Quality dictates quantity in the entertainment industry. Your "muh content" argument does not and will never apply.

Borderlands is a shit game for gamers who think memes, shoddy writing and padded gameplay stand for quality. Its gameplay "content" (I place in quotes because it feels more like garbage than actual "content") consist of repetitive grinding and pointless bullet sponge enemies that stretch the term "tedious" right down to the last letter. The writing is frighteningly mediocre, and downright cringy with its eyerolling use of memes, pop culture references, and contemporary jokes. The environments are barren and lifeless despite having immature writing that suggests the idea that the setting would at LEAST have some color or fun to it like Sunset Overdrive. Overall, it'ss all unpolished shit and gives less buzz than a budweiser.

I suspected you had shit taste and this pretty much confirms it.

Well with my current 400 dollars salary I REALLY can't afford Overpriced right now, especially because Blizzard are a bunch of racists that decided to release the game at a full 60 dollars price in third world countries for some reason.

However I could afford the 10 dollars required to unlock everything in Paladins, so...
...#povertywatchftw I guess
