According to the official website, an anime movie of Ubukata Tow's light novel "Mardock Scramble" was announced. Mardock Scramble had once been announced to get an anime adaptation by Gonzo in 2006, but was canceled at the end of the year. The production studio of the new movie is unknown. Cancelation announcement by Gonzo in 2006 Mardock Scramble is Ubukata's cyberpunk sci-fi novel released in 2003. A casino manager Shell attempts to kill a teenage prostitute Balut by burning her in the car. Balut is rescued by a strange-looking doctor "Easter" and a mouse-shaped weapon "oeuf coque". They regenerate her body and she fights against Shell's conspiring inspector "Boiled" in order to charge Shell. Gonzo isn't bad if you give them a source to work off of and if it's not action so I might look into this. |

Wait, does that mean THIS movie is going to be done by Gonzo as well or a new studio? I thought Gonzo died. |

Is Gonzo really gone? With their last couple anime that'd be a terrible way to leave. I saw the trailer for the 2006 anime and was interested, so I'm glad it's getting adapted. |

Sounds relevant to my interests. Murata Renji's design there looks awesome (as always), but I do hope they stick with the original style (any idea who's doing the adaptation?) |
