In cases of burning buildings and such, when you find that there is no way of escaping, you can prepare for the pain. That, in turn, makes the ordeal less painful. Then there's the point of how large an area the pain is in. If it's all over, you're able to become numb to it. Drowning, on the other hand, is something completely different. Yes, if we're basing our decision on pain level, drowning is the lesser of the two. There's some pain, but it's more in your lungs and just the overall strain on your body. However, that's just the physical pain. Do you know what your brain goes through when your drowning. There is no way for you to "prepare" for drowning. It's all about you staying alive. It's all about how long you can stay alive. There's almost always a way for you to save yourself or be saved. So that extra, "I have to hold my breath so I can live." There's no way you can turn off the pain you experience mentally. If you're drowning, you're at the mercy of the water. You have no choice but to go with the flow. And if the flow doesn't allow you to breath oxygen, there's not much you can do. Sure, there's a whole lot more points for either burning or drowning, but I chose drowning to be the worst. I'm terrified of water. Seriously. I'll drink it, but I don't like taking baths or swimming. I'd gladly burn to death rather than drown. |

| if a person is burning or on fire, or in a fire of sorts, usually the heat and smoke will burn your lungs fairly quickly and youll suffocate and pass out early on in the process of burning. drowning would probably be alot scarier in my opinion, it would be more the fear of being completely helpless. if you dont think so, try a little waterboarding |

| scientifically drowning is much worse , the feeling of suffocating and water filling your lungs is much more painful than burns , burns can puff adrenaline into your body which can cause your body to go into shock and faint. |
