The May 2016 issue of Dragon Magazine, which will go on sale on March 19, has announced that the fantasy light novel Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records will be receiving an anime adaptation.

The series written by Tarou Hitsuji, with illustrations by Kurone Mishima, has been publishing since 2014 and has five volumes in print. A manga adaptation drawn by Aosa Tsunemi is also being serialized in Shounen Ace magazine.

Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records is the winner of the 26th Fantasia Taisho, an award by publisher Fujimi Shobo which recognizes new writers in its catalog.

Synopsis
Sistina attends a magical academy to hone her skills in the magical arts, hoping to solve the mystery of the enigmatic Sky Castle. After the retirement of her favorite teacher, the replacement, Glen, turns out to be a tardy, lazy, and seemingly incompetent bastard of an instructor. How is it that Glen was hand-picked by the best magician in the academy?! (Source: Tribuo Scans)

I've seen it in BT and I know that it will get an anime from the synopsis and cover alone.
Kickstarter for Rokujouma is fully funded. Good work everyone. Lets wait for the result of our hard work together.

I heard from this LN from my friend that its a bit generic, however the MC is one of the best things from the novel.

And how fucking ironic, when this got announced:

1. I picked this up 2 days ago.
2. 1 day AFTER KonoSuba ended.

If you don't know why I mentioned KonoSuba here, clearly the Illustrator of Akashic Records is the same as the Illustrator from the KonoSuba Light Novels. And Mishima Kurone's art for the Novels are just very good personally.

So will it be a harem and/or a romance?

Not sounding really interesting at all.

The synopsis sounds interesting

Hopefully this would have something unique despite its generic settings.

Aw man, this looked like an ecchi romance animu (by looking at cover) but its not. Oh well, cant be always a winner.
The synopsis sounds good, however.

Nope. Not interested. The only thing that sounds interesting here is the Akashic Records in the title. Sounds lame as fuck otherwise.

What a twist.
Instead of the transfer student at a magical academy we get a transfer TEACHER.
The LN crowd is mind blown. "Bakana!" can be heard from every corner.

As I will say before, I heard the transfer teacher is the one of the best aspects of this series since he's apparently hilarious.

I bet you $5 that the guy has a sad past to explain his personality problems and after learning about those, the girl will get a giant crush on him. In what way is it any different from other shit tier magic action school shows you get every single season?

Well I guess that seems interesting, but...*sigh will this devolve into the usual magical school shit? Cos' the visuals don't show anything special, the main female character looks annoying..too.

I'm not saying anything that the show would be anything unique tbh. I'm just saying, that the sentence or commentary is overused. Let me also say something, I've seen over 50 or something of the same source material/setting/genres and I'm still watching them. I didn't got tired of them at least as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not saying they're good in anyway. The only thing I'm aware is that the teacher is something out of the norm from your average shows.

Also another thing, I can UNDERSTAND nobody likes these, but these would maybe considered targeted to a different audience, so if you aren't a fan of those then that's fine. Just don't watch it then. (This is not an force obligation)

Lol, it's already been done last Summer though. Kuusen Madoushi and this are so similar, they did a collaboration CM two years ago.

Fantasia Bunko made it as an advertisement, when it really shows that there aren't any speck of creativity going on under their label.

I'll agree it has been done, however I'll be honest... Kuusen Madoushi was pretty bad to be fair. Maybe this would be much better? I ain't sure.

Could this be the last non-spinoff magic highschool series to ever get a non-sequel anime announcement? I'm struggling to think of any others that could reasonably get one. Maou na Ano Ko to Murabito A doesn't count. And nor does Konjiki no Word Master.

Calling Kuusen Madoushi bad would be insulting to the bad shows...MC was not retarded or wimpy but that was pretty much the only good thing about it...He still lacked character...

I will wait a little more till more elitists come here tho, need more prejudice in my life...

To be fair I wouldn't really be affected much. I stand by my reasons why at least Kuusen was bad anyways. The only thing was the MC but that was quite it for me.

We are at the bottom aren't we? Like we can see the base on the inside of barrel bottom. Hopefully it means that good LN adaptations start coming more frequently.

My guess is Diomedea. Sounds exactly like Sky Wizards and will probably suck equally as much as well.

well that LN cover does look like the art at Konosuba cover.
While the story probably be generic magic school with some romance, the synopsis does suggest to me that the main protagonist (it's the white-haired girl, isn't it?) looks interesting.

Will watch.
Because of the MC that seems interesting and is a white-haired nekomimi girl with nice figure. :3

There's no more originality in terms of stories, only the matter of execution is needed for the shows.
