| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- More goblin hunting and fighting~ I didn't know goblins play chess Haru and Yume actually makes a decent team. Hmm now that I think about it, the action was actually pretty good. Even Shihoru managed to get a few good hits in. Also really like Yume's new bow for some reason. Not bad, I mean this episode had a good amount of action so it was fun. I suppose the episode kinda paid respect to Manato (RIP) as I bet he would of wanted the party to fight the good fight after his death. Poor Shihoru, she misses her the most.  |

| Surprisingly 5/10, even though they include 2 INSERT SONG in this episode. This episode has the same problem just like previous episodes : INSERT SONG. Seriously folks, that song at the start of the battle ruins it enough to remove 1 star to 4/10. Yes, the teamwork kind of loses for a while at the middle ( I think they put some new things in the battle? idk. Already forgot what the LN write about the battle). Aaand, Shihoru is suddenly Darkness. Then battle ends and finally this ARC ends. Good job, for finally buy the tag.  Then I bring back the star just because the INSERT SONG is finally matched this scene. And yes. Finally I can see Mary's smile. |

*sigh* That insert song when they were fighting Goblins was unnecessary as heck, ruining the thrilling moment, the battle itself was good though. I almost thought this was the final episode. Mary and Haru's conversation somehow reminded me of 5cm/s. Nice to see Mary's smile, she is pretty cute when being friendly |

| Best episode of the series....Best episode of the week....Perfection is what this was imo This is all that I really new to say, the Goblin Slayers went absolutely HAM in the first half and that entire battle was just perfect The art and animation as fluid, the OST was fitting and added to the mood, the tone was great andtge intensity of it all was just too awesome....Everyone fought and played their roles so well and with so much heart and passion and I cheered so hard when Haruhiko avenged Manato This aplies to the entire episode really because that scene at the graveyard and then the final scene with Mary who is just a joy to watch was simply beautiful and nothing less....She and Hal (Dat nickname lol) are way too cute together and now I know why my LN friends ship them so hard This felt like a finale really and I wouldn't hesitate to rate this series a 9/10 if it was the end....I am so proud of them all and seeing them but Manato's tags brought a tear to my eye |

| Well that was wonderful. The first half goblin fight was exciting. I grew despaired after Mary got shot and it looked liked history might repeat itself. However, fate, skill and luck were on their side, and Manato was avenged without losing anyone else. Then that atmospheric and introspective second half came, and it didn't take long to get emotional and misty eyed. Loved the song once again, and the snowy weather. I only wish it looked like that here, and any other February here it would, but this winter's been pretty non-existent, but I digress. Great episode, probably the best so far. Nice to see Mary as a fuller member of the party, they really have become strong. No doubt Manato'd be pleased. |

| So much for the end of insert songs after going through the lot of them as of last episode. In all seriousness though, this was an excellent episode. Interesting the way they demonstrated a clear culture for the goblins, what with them drinking, playing chess and what have you. The fact that Mary almost got killed in the same way as Manato just goes to show that, even with all the developments they have made as a party, they still have much to learn, primarily to keep an eye out for archers so we don't get more moments like this one, which almost had me think they were going to kill Mary off as well. I'm glad they didn't though, especially considering that scene with Haru at the end when they seemed to be starting to develop a relationship of sorts, though how far that can go in the world of Grimgar is anyone's guess. |
| It could have gonne without the insert song during the fight, yeah, made the fight seems too fast paced and more like a normal fight rather than something more serious, some better directing and pacing during the fight would have helped too but from the wonky animation I think this is the best they could do. By all means alright and plenty exciting though. Second half was just majestic, now that's an insert song well used. It did feel like the end of the series lol. I'm glad they changed Shihoru placing the pendant... that was awkward in the novels. The tone is a lot different from the novels too, the start is in line well enough but the novels kinda end on a bit more downer note, Haruhiro comments on how they have become a good party and all but in the back of his mind he's still insecure about the future. Here it's much different in how it truly feels like they have grown a lot and can do just fine on their own. That part after the credits with Mary was also all anime original, it's really good characterization for her. Her seiyuu's acting was on point too, her reactions were so well done. And did they foreshadow stuff? I was kinda expecting them to make it more obvious but at the same time I think it'd have been kinda awkward so I'm glad they didn't press too much into it. I did mention somewhere else 4 episodes was fine for volume 2, well, I hope that PV only shows things from the first 2 minutes of the episode then. :P With that title though... Get ready for badass Renji tho, hopefully. They also skipped the prologue for volume 1, well, maybe not skipped, might just put it at the start of the next episode, or they might just cut it entirely since it won't be relevant for the anime, but I'd want to see Souma and his team~ You can always just put it at the start of S2 and no problemo~ muh OTP |

| Mary shouldda died. Also the Hal part with Ranta was hilarious, I wish they didnt keep ignoring him still, I thought they were going to change. Insert song with the battle was epic, I was more annoyed by the shaky cam, why does anime always need to use shaky cam? |

| okay but that episode was actually flawless i cried more than when i read the ln which was not at all. the anime original fight material during the fight was awesome especially the little haruyume tidbits. the snow also fit the mood during the end perfectly. omfg im never gonna get over this episode... next one looks like a slow episode but also |

| More goblin fighting (no surprise there) but there was a scare with Mary almost dying the same exact way Manato died. Pretty decent action in this episode. And for those complaining about the second insert song, wasn't that song technically just the ending song? |

| Ugh such mixed results this week. Great teamwork and action when fighting the goblins yet the insert song totally took away from the intensity that we should have felt. Then we have the grave yard scene which took a little too long, and what was with that overhead shot? Those textures were shit. Anyway grave yard scene was too long and then there was another insert song, though at least this one fit the scene, but it is detracted because insert songs are a dime a dozen this series. And then finally we have just Mary and Haruhiro talking, with no music or insert song at the end and it was fantastic. Silence was truly golden there. I just don't see what A-1 wants to do...I guess finish it off like what Bones did with Noragami because there's no way at this pacing that they can finish Vol.2. |

Episode was great, I wish they removed the 3D models and camera movement when Haruhiro is talking in front of Manato's grave (felt like I was watching a Tales of), it kind of ruined the whole 2D consistency |

| The speech at the beginning was sorta awkward, but everything that happened after that was pretty damn good. So they finally found the nest of gobs responsible for Manato's death, and set out a plan to avenge him. As with all plans, things don't always work out exactly as planned and they got lucky near the end when Mary and Yume both getting injured, and Mogzo almost getting knocked down as well. Still, things worked out in the end because Shihoru was brave enough to get close to the giant of a gob to cast her spell. The grave scene was quite realistic, as were Haru's inner monologues. I was wondering if he would eventually invite Mary to shack up with the rest of the party, but I guess they'll have to save enough money to get better living quarters first. Loved the understanding that's developing between him and Mary. And as always the scenery and backdrops are beautiful. I really liked Shihoru's VA singing the ED song. The wintery scenery also fit the mood here. Wonder what the last four episodes will bring... the previews for the next episode seem very chill. |

| another decent episode with a chill ending. (No pun intended) I know this show has its "slow" moments and an infinite amount of awkward silences, but damn it man, they really brought out the big guns this week. I think I'm finally able to understand what all these haters keep complaining about. Still love the show though. I can almost guarantee that next weeks episode will be 10 times more "relaxing" than anything we've ever seen before with a title like that. I just hope they put in good insert music because I'm expecting a bunch of artistic still frames. |

| A-1 continues to make the absolute most polarizing shows in the industry. Either people seem to absolutely love them and sing their praises to the highest of the heavens or absolutely hate them and consider it a bunch of commercially driven drivel with tons of missed opportunities and annoying tendencies week after week season after season. Personally I just continue to find them excessively mediocre and bland with this one being yet another odd mixture of frankly questionable directional and writing choices where the staff seems more concerned with trying to find ways to set their shows apart from or above the usual rabble but really it's more tertiary trope differences and it's kind of still the same sort of shit you'd normally expect to see. Also it seems like this show is content to just dwell on a few plot points and never really go particularly far with it's premise, but I guess that gets seen as doing things differently and focusing more on the "small details" and "slice of life" rather than just lacking in material. Whoever had the idea for slowly getting the anime scene to the point where lacking in forward motion, consistent developments and sense of purpose is seen as a great thing that emphasizes a shows humanity rather than bores one to tears is the real marketing genius in the industry I'd say because it's really eased the plight of the writers in it who instead of getting absolutely buried in criticism for overwhelming laziness and derivative ideas just sort of have to deal with a low din of it. |

| Ok what the hell, did Mary getting shot with an arrow happen in the LN? Because I don't remember that. I don't remember being that scared for Mary in the Goblin fights, this made my heart drop thinking the anime was going with a different scenario and killing her off too :O!!! |
That fight was so good :O The big goblin dying was also sad, he's like Moguzo.  R.I.P. my blue brother. He was hard on the goblins but he had to be to keep the team strong. He went back to set up one last offense, but also to reminisce about his comrades. He knew he was a goner, him sitting there looking at the chess board is so sad, I know people who aren't smart enough to even understand the rules.  The 2nd half was nice, much emotions. |

| Ranta apparently likes Yume, Mary is starting to develop feelings for Haruhiro, and Haruhiro has a choice between her and Yume who also seems to like him... except he himself doesn't seem to like either of them romantically just yet. And maybe Mary has more chances because he's paying a lot more attention to her, if only because he has to, but it can easily transform into something more from there. |

| Well first part of this anime things seemed to be going for Yume x Haruhiro but now things seems to be going Marry Haruhiro which makes me wonder how things will turn out. Marry certainly has gotten closer to the group. They finally got their revenge but it seems the hardships are far from over. Seeing as those goblins where playing chess it was safe too assume they where pretty intelligent and they also knew how human parties fought. This means they fought humans before on several occasions which also means others should have known about this group and their might have been a bounty or something like that on them. |
