I'm hoping you can help me. I have really come to love slice-of-life style anime, but so much of it seems to be high school themed. I have watched many high school slice-of-lifes that I have enjoyed, but my favourites concern older characters. Does anyone have good recommendations for animes featuring older characters (such as Bartender, Mushishi and YKK)?

Hi - a couple of recommendations, although neither one is strictly a slice of life story.

Hataraki Man - Mostly a light-hearted romance/drama with a heavy focus on the main character - a workaholic woman who writes for a magazine. The show does portray some of the mundane and day to day aspects of working in a japanese magazine company (but just how realistic it is - I don't know).

Ristorante Paradiso - This is more of a romance/drama josei anime. Setting is in Rome and the heroine is from a small town and finds herself working in a restaurant along with older, bespectacled men (I guess it could be a reverse harem). There are lots of observational details - ie, managing a restaurant, preparing good food, picking the right wine, learning from and about herco-workers and generally living in Rome

I did like Ristorante Paradiso, but I haven't seen Hataraki Man. I will definitely check it out. Thanks for the rec.

I might try to pick it up again. The thing is I only liked one of the Nana's based on the first few eps. The other one was getting on my nerves.
