How fat? Obesity is nothing to be proud of, it's ugly. Idk why but in anime dudes can be represented as slim, slightly chubby or absolutely obese but when it comes to chicks it's either slim or absolutely morbidly obese.. But on topic: probably not.. |

I guess we can start with 25 BMI? Which is just classified as barely overweight. Most anime girls are around 155-165cm and around 50Kg. The lowest is probably 40Kg You can check VNDB . Honestly I am not saying I am supporting anything , I personally like anime the way it is. I am more curious if there are people that don't enjoy anime because of the way it is. |

If they didn't make the character's personality something that is heavily influenced by their weight in an extremely unbelievable manner then I might watch it. Most fat male protagonists I've seen in manga were depicted as failures in life and generally disgusting otakus. I'd like it if the authors of such work didn't implement such ridiculous stereotypes into their stories, but I guess that's what anime and manga are usually all about. |
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives. |

I find it interesting we need a plot because there are plenty of people in real life that are fat . Don't workout and eat a lot would be the most simple explaination for most . But in the anime world where about 2% of the population is fat , we need to come up with plot reasons. |

Not even their Orc demons are that level. Done said: Well I don't watch anime solely because the girls are skinny or average. I thought that was part of the main appeal of Anime. I wouldn't watch a show if either was portrayed as fat, like Accel World. I hate that MC, half decent show, but he ruins it. Obesity is not something that should be accepted as ok, it's not. |

If we're using the Asian definition of "overweight" set at a BMI of 23 I think it could work. Although 25 is considered simply "overweight" in the US it's considered "obese" in Japan. Only around 3% of Japanese people have a BMI over 30 while around 30% of Americans have a BMI that high. These girls are considered overweight in Japan but white people of that size would be completely healthy. I would watch it. I doubt it would have the same effect here, but it would still be fun to watch. |

I don't typically like series that are "all-female" in the first place since they are usually moe shows that are just "meh" to me. However I doubt I would watch a show with all fat girls. The problem is more in the fact that the author felt the need to make them all fat, it is almost undoubtedly very strained and poorly written. Like that comic book writer that decided to make a series with a fat female lead, I wouldn't be caught dead reading it. It is just a gimmick marketed to a certain crowd that wants to pride themselves on being "tolerant", meanwhile the material is shitty. Having said that, if it turned out to be an amazing series, then sure I would give it a shot. |
