As a Brit I know that the British accent can be both classy and ear bleedingly annoying depending on what part of Britain.
In the south you get the refined Hugh Grant, James Bond types.
And in the north you get drooling idiots incapable of pronouncing the letter T.

Theres so many british accents its incredible, even in the south Londoners can sound posh but everyone from Cornwall sound like they work on a farm. Even if you just look at London, the rich parts sound like you like describe but there are lots of different areas with different accents and dialects.

Yes, yes they are.
Here's a handy map of Britain to help clear things up (the blue parts are Britain)

Again England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are all British.
Much like how Sweden, Finland and Norway are all Scandanavian.

Location based ≠ being /insert language or accent/ based

E.G. Australian English is derived from the "typical" British accent (think Downtown Abbey, Sherlock etc)

The Scottish and Irish accents, however, aren't

English accent changes every 20 miles so I don't know why people are saying that.

Accent in my neck of the woods.

Although my personal accent is minimal as I've moved around a lot.

u're right geographically about those being a part of great britain,
but scottish and irish accents(for accents) can stand by their own dude, just like the british one (or in this case the one that is used by english-man, southern, northern, etc idk)....

Okay, I should probably have said "English based" or "Commonwealth English" instead of "British based"

Other than that I am not wrong

I got it from the beginning

Though I might not have been 100 % wrong after all
When distinguished from American English, the term "British English" is sometimes used broadly as a synonym for "Commonwealth English", the general dialect of English spoken amongst the former British colonies exclusive of the particular regionalisms of, for example, Australian or Canadian English.
Commonwealth English = English English

Edit: wait I don't think I was, sorry I'm really tired because of my medicine lol

put in "Geographically" u're right, like that video, but I talk about the english one (main isle not great britain in general) compared for both...
I bet the that many ppl that vote for "british accent" for an england one unconsciously, not have second thought for both irish and scottish, those three deserve on separated poll imo

I prefer American accent, althout Southern dialects are annoying. In German I prefered Northern German dialects spoken in the former Kingdom of Prussia and in Swedish my personal favourite is the dialect they speak in Finland.

Finland is not a part of Scandinavia, and it's not "Scandinavian" unless you are speaking about the Swedish minority living there.
"Nordic" however, is the common term for all Nordic countries, which includes Finland and also Greenland.

Northern Ireland is part of Britain.
Irish is a British accent.

Ok let me try to explain it this way.

Imagine if I said "so why isn't the Texan accent included on this list?"
to which someone replied, "it is, Texas is part of America"
and then I said "Texan isn't an American accent"

That would be pretty dumb right?
