starting and ending dates

I see that the ending dates of someone watching an anime are registered, but wouldn't it be a good idea to implement the starting date being the date when the anime was tagged as "currently watching"?

It would be better after you watched the first episode. (Taiga can do this)
It would look ridiculous if it would look like I watched a 1 eps long ova for 3 week long, just because it was on my list.
