I don't see the appeal for this Osomatsu crap. And of course Prison School isn't selling that well.

God dammit Japan, get your priorities in order, this is ridiculous.

Instead of complaining why dont you try... you know.... actually watching it? Instead of assuming it's shit just because the art doesn't look like what the standard anime art looks like?
He did, and he still hates it because he has shit taste.

i dunno tbh, I never watched it so I have no idea about the animation quality. I am just curious, that's all.
Let's just say, it isn't Utapri-level in terms of visuals. It's above average but the visuals are the least important in the series.

It doesn't have to be "shit taste" either to people here or in Japan. It is just different taste.

I dropped Osomatsu-san in the second episode as well. It just isn't for me. But I would never say "Japan has shit taste" because many people there bought a show which isn't my favorite. Just different taste!

I know it is disappointing when you see shows you dislike selling well as you might think that means less chance of shows you like being made but they make so many shows these days, there has to be something you like!

Really wish anime forums could get over the difference here.

Watch what you like, buy what you love. Don't worry so much about everyone else's tastes and purchases.

Whoa, chill bruh

it's just a joke lmaoooo

I actually have never felt that way towards any Anime except in the BL fandom where it's actually TRUE because the more spotlight Junjou gets, the less chance something like Kono Danshi would get adapted because that just means most of the fandom enjoys rape instead of soft BL.

Not directed at you alone. Just comes up week after week after week, "Japan has shit taste." No, they just have different taste, please get it people...

I do understand what you are saying about hard BL. Not to my tastes while actual romance in soft BL I can take.

I just realized it now that the DVD sales of Osomatsu is higher than the BD sales. Is that usual? I am just curious.. Love Live's record of 80+K BD is far from the 35K of Osomatsu but they managed to even the odds with their DVD sales
Common for shows which are bought by more female anime fans. Many female fans still just have DVD players. Also common when the event ticket is more important than the anime, if you can use multiple tickets then you might as well get the cheaper DVD version for multiple copies.

ohhh i see. Thank you for this! I learned something new! lol! so BD player for male fans and DVD for female fans.. I will take note of that (y)

As Hpulley explained, some of these female fans are still clinging onto DVDs since many anime still offer both BD and DVD formats. Anime such as Love Live have completely omitted DVDs, which has forced its female fanbase (they make up 43.4% of the Love Live fanbase as of early 2015) to upgrade to the superior BD format just to be able to enjoy the series.

The music concert discs, which are distributed by Lantis, still offers BDs and DVDs, but now we see an overwhelming BD bias, since females fans have already upgraded to BD players. So the BD = male fans and DVD = female fans does hold for the majority, but there are always exceptions nowadays.

so basically the BD is more expensive than the DVD? Like 2 to 3 times? If that is the case.. then even if Osomatsu came close to LL in terms of total number of copies sold.. the gross amount is still far from µ's?

No, there is little difference in the price for the two formats. 7300 yen for the Osomatsu-san Bluray, 6200 yen for the DVD. 5700 and 4800 with amazon discount. Only stars to count if you can buy multiple copies for a ticket. Otherwise, if you have a Bluray player you'll buy the Bluray.
