| After maintaining a very strong and unyielding 9.15 in the ratings for well over a year, Hunter x Hunter (2011) fans must be disappointed in the slight change of ratings in the show. With the aid of an exuberant and ever-charming storyline and the one most talked factor of the show, the Chimera Ant arc, HxH is acclaimed as one of the greatest Shounen in Anime to ever exist. I still have a feeling that if the show had ended airing right after the Chimera Ant Arc ended, the ratings would be different than what it is now. Maybe not a huge deal of difference as a mere .10 separates HxH being the Greatest Ever on this site. Even though the Chairman Election Arc offered a very satisfying end to the series, I still can't shrug off the feeling that many viewers inclined to give or leaned forward to a 9/10 out of a perfect 10/10. So fellow HxH fans, what are your thoughts on this? |

| It was the right choice to end after the Election arc, because that is when Gon reunited with his father. In fact, it would be more accurate to assume that the score would be lower than it currently is if it had ended after CA, because the raison d'être of the MC's journey would not have been fulfilled. So yeah, the 9/10s don't come from where it ended, but simply one's opinion of the entirety of the series (eg. many of the fandom dislike the pacing for the beginning & middle of the CAarc). |

| Nope. I'm happy with the rating in MAL, but a lower rating won't dethrone it as my favorite series ever. There are some important things left unresolved at the end of the chimera ant, such as Gon's fate, reuniting with Kaito and most importantly, meeting his father. So stopping at the end of the chimera ant would only hurt the series overall (imagine watching the 99 version without any of the ovas, people were complaining left and right that the York Shin arc got cut). The election arc gives the series a much more suitable closure. An argument for episode 147 (when Gon and Killua part ways) as a better ending could be made, but there's a reason for Gon's journey. |

Only two problems of the show for me. With this in mind, i still see Hunter x Hunter 2011 as the greatest of all time. A .01 point is not something to get bothered by. It consistently in the top ratings on many sites and even on forums where asked "whats the greatest anime of all time?", Hunter x Hunter 2011 is mentioned so many times. |
