So he basically only delayed her death by 2 days? So that mean a butterfly effect won't happen here. The killer must be meticulous and feel like there was something wrong. If he want to stop the murder spree, he have to kill the root of it.

Yoooo, that couple is so sweet. Why is it that an elemantary school romance is so sweet? Am I retarded or something?

I have something truly awful to propose : what if Satoru can't time leap as a kid? That mean he'd have to live on that timeline with the grief of not being able to save her and waiting to be adult (or teenage, whatever) again. That would be a nice twist (though it would create a lot of exposition).

The "death" flags were so real this episode. I kept on losing it at the "I'll see you tomorrow" bits just waiting for something to happen to her... Really hope she is okay and just sick at bed so she couldn't go to school or something.

Now to wait another seven days for the next episode. Dammit.

Fuck. I was watching the timer on the video, thinking that as soon as it ends we're safe, but nope - obligatory short and depressing scene that is used for cliffhangers since the first ''feelz'' anime sprung into existence. If it wasn't for Satoru jinxing it with his victory remarks...

And now I'm seeing these comments on how the worst is almost confirmed. Like, come on, the two of them are adorable. Why does she have to die?

Love how Kayo has started warming upto Satoru and his friends. Nice development in their relationship as well.

Another awesome episode!
Hinazuki is just so cute when she smiles, it's touching :')

I knew things wouldn't run that smoothly though- I'm pretty sure Satoru's going about the whole ordeal the wrong way! Instead of only thinking about saving Hinazuki, he probably needs to start thinking about the issue at hand: the identity of the murderer. I mean look at all these suspicious characters- Sensei, Kayo's mother and her partner, Kenya, maybe even Yuuki...

Saving Hinazuki one time surely isn't enough to change the events of the past- the murderer could just strike at another time, another place. Satoru also keeps making a lot of the same mistakes he did in the past, I guess he hasn't really changed all that much deep down, but that's prolly the same for a lot of people.

Or I dunno, maybe we're all overthinking this and Kayo just flunked school to finish that present for Satoru (I damn well hope that's the case) :o

Good but there are a few MAJOR problems. He keeps saying he's 29, but he really does act like a little kid. I mean, think about it, if you went back in time to prevent someone from being killed by a serial killer, would you be doing what he's doing? I recommend both of you read this ANN article about the episode, which delves into Satoru's faults and personality as well as the flaws in his approach to the whole situation much more eloquently then I could. I agree with a lot of what it says, and actually believe that having Satoru portrayed as the fallible character that he is more of a benefit to this show than a burden.

There's really not that many characters to be suspicious of except the teacher. So are they gonna inroduce more characters in the future?. And they keep showing the high school girl Satorou met in the first episode in the theme song so Im guessing she's a significant character in the series.

I hope she's late because she wants to finish her present for Fujinuma. I think what Fujinuma needs to do now is to be on his Detective Conan and actually search for clues of the killer ASAP, because changing bits of pieces of his actions only delays the inevitable. Especially if the killer is targeting Kayo.

Anyway, another solid episode of ERASED. I just can't seem to get enough of Fujinuma and Kayo moments. Too cute!

Good job, Satoru!
And, another point of view from Satoru's mom proving that she still loves her child based on her clothes. Man, I don't even think that aspect.

I think they key part there wasn't that the mom is showing her love by dressing her child well but that she wants everything to appear find to everyone else. That's why Satoru's mom said her mom cares about appearances rather than saying her mom cares that she has the best/looks the best. If she's well dressed people won't think she's being abused/mistreated.

omg that was such a brilliant execution!! everything seemed to be going so perfectly, but they added just enough tension so I wasn't completely at ease! It was great how the author put all those teeny-tiny hints at history not changing (like mc still spending exactly 5000 on his birthday sandwiches AFTER he successfully kept Kayo alive the day before) just to keep up a little nagging suspicion.

I'm just a bit suspicious of the teacher rn because of that small scene where he smiled at a kid's incorrect homework and still gave the kid the points. "The polar bear bit off the teacher's head" is quite a vicious sentence for a kid too... I can't really explain the nagging suspicion this small scene leaves, but it feels the same as the whole history-not-changing thing so...

But then again, there were also those scenes with Yuuki interacting with a truck driver, Kayo's mom walking home from work and acting sus, and a random guy drinking. Not sure if those are related to the murder, but this show sure does love throwing shade around

And of course the ep had to end on a cliffhanger. Not like that doesn't happen in every show, right

The guy is an idiot.

Who the heck thinks that helping the potential victim go through one day is enough to prevent a murder?

Two other kids are going to end up getting killed as well. This is not some "one time opportunistic" thing. The kid has to try finding the killer. And if he has to make himself the bait to find that murderer, so be it. He should hide a knife and be ready to stab the kidnapper in the spine or vitals.

Events are not always caused because you have to be at the right time and place. Sometimes, an event will happen regardless of a particular cause missing. If you went back in time and prevented the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria during the 28th of June 1914, that doesn't mean you'd have prevented World War one. The Serbian terrorists could have continued their effort or killed someone else. Some other event can have sparked the tension between the European empires. You'd need to put a lot more work than preventing the death of some noble.

Good, as usual.

My thoughts (non-manga reader, obviously):

So they had a birthday together. After the party was over, Kayo went home and into her house just fine - Satoru was with her at the time. The lights turn on in the house, things seem fine. The next day Satoru goes to school, and according to his narration, Kayo did not come to school that day, so have to assume she got murdered/kidnapped again.

Now...

Does this mean that the culprit went into Kayo's house while they were at the party? Maybe the culprit killed her mother and that guy as well, and then they prepared for Kayo's arrival after the party? Or did Kayo's mother go nuts and hurt/killed her? Or did Kayo leave the house during the night for whatever reason, and then get kidnapped/murdered?

I'm just not sure. However I still won't trust the teacher. They made him look good in this episode unlike the previous one, didn't they? Yea, I'm not gonna buy into that just yet. Honestly...... who else is there that would fit? I don't even have another solid possibility in my mind right now. Satoru himself SOMEHOW being the killer is something that could happen, but if that was the case, then it's just gonna get really weird with the timey wimey stuff later (because then there would be two of him in ep1)

I... do not... trust you yet... good sir.
