"Joke" was one the Live adaption of the 2nd season with handsome young actors. They did plan on a 2nd season, I believe. No one ends an anime and calls it "first season", but I guess S1 didn't go well in the business. So eventually they had to drop the idea.

NVM, I was looking for some in-dept answer unlike a basic common assumption that "it did not do well in making profit", isn't that obvious? Anime ended in 2012 and now it is 2016. I was looking for some sales figure or an actual answer like some of the people post on MAL as for why S2 or a continuation couldn't happen.

i hopefully hoping for them to hope for the best... im still hoping to see more Tadakuni and Hidenori and Yoshitake high school life. Actually, i can relate with their life coz it often becomes familiar with mine. but even so, I'm still hoping for the best.

No second season unfortunately. I guess it's one of those anime that is more well received in the West and it probably didn't sell well in Japan. I believe the manga might have a few unseen scenes so there's that.

I don't know if someone will ever read this but.. today new weebs generations would lose in interest because therewould be no boobs after the first 2 episodes and eventually they will find something to call it racist or sexist, or even worse, some guys weeb repressed would say something like " oh here in this anime girls always beat up boys and nobody says anything, imagine if the role were inversed what would have happen- ( continue to say something very controversial)" and bullshit like this. So veteran weebs would ended up sayin "first season was better" (even if they didn't watch it)
Then some youtubers would just talk bad about it becasue they have to be the "alternative weeb"
Alls of this would just start, to make you hate the fandom. Even some old episode of the first season if it would get rediscovered by tiktok would get blasted for being sexist or racist. And Square would not risk about it.
