| Madoka did 148k in week 1 so added 37.5k after that. If Love Live! gained the same % before dropping out the rankings it would be about 1k sales below that top Macross Frontier release (the same % would lead to 253472 sales). |

| By the way, this is how much Love Live made in a week from just the movie BD sales: 193,769 * ￥10,584 + 8,528 * ￥7,344 = ￥2,113,480,728 Love Live Movie now at 2.84 billion yen: http://www.bunkatsushin.com/news/article.aspx?id=110618 I’m assuming it just hit that, so that’s after its 28th weekend. It’s run will end after Dec 31 at Shinjuku Piccadilly, after 202 consecutive days of showing. Too bad it didn't have enough time to reach 3 billion yen at the Box Office. It's definitely ranked outside top 10 for 2015 anime as it didn't even make the 2015 Top 10 Anime published by anikore. So, I am not surprised. I am not saying the above list should be considered as a yardstick as I almost never appreciate Japanese fans' taste. The manga got its well deserved boost though. Season 2 will be possible only if MADHOUSE is interested. Ippo and Chihayafuru got sequels because some staff of MADHOUSE are passionate about these series and wanted to work on sequels despite very low return. :) |

Anime BDs aren't the only thing fans buy. There's the real life Love Live store in Japan, which is particularly popular among teenage females. There's the mobile game, where the female players are slightly more represented in the player numbers than the male players. Other associated merchandise, music BD/DVD, CDs, etc. Then there are many female fans cosplaying and dancing to the Love Live songs on Nico Nico and Youtube. I suppose it's the sheep mentally, where they think it's cool to hate on things other people hate. Also, look at how many people lap up those reviews on ANN, and use those to dictate what they watch, rather than deciding themselves what is worthy of watching. Oh well, just have to live with these kinds of people. |

| Love Live! killing it! That is what I like to see. Lmao, Valkdrive tho. It's game sales weren't that notable either. 10.2k One Punch Man *9.0k Gundam – Iron-Blooded Orphans *5.7k High School Musical Really hoping OPM can pull that. I'm not too worried about Gundam, but if it could sell 9k that would be great. Also really surprised that StarMu randomly picked up and gained some decent popularity. Good for that show though. |
