| It's more of a being able to empathize with Tomoko thing rather than being outright in your face funny. The clever references the show makes along with how MC handles the awkward situations (or rather isn't able to handle) make it funny. |

| It's funny because of Tomoko's weird schemes to make herself more popular, which always seem to fail, and her cynicism, she criticizes people in her head, but most people are actually nice to her. Her thoughts are just so cynical and maybe irrational, she's just so paranoid and shy, but that adds to the comic effect. |

| Having taken 3 years in order to make friends at the faculty I'm attending (literally), I think I find it funny precisely because I relate to Kuroki. No one wants to be the bottom of the barrel. Even if this girl doesn't exist, you can watch this show and be like "at least I'm not her." Sounds pathetic, but what's the alternative? Suffering alone? That doesn't mean I don't have sympathy for her. I also want her to win, because after all, I relate to her xD |
